Coloring Be Dazzling Papers with Alcohol!

You'll want to get your free pack of Be Dazzling papers during Sale-a-Bration!  They are really cool and sparkly!  It's a different sparkle than the Glimmer papers. From the catalog, and even online, it looks silvery - it really has more of a champagne/light goldish tint.  NOTE that these papers are expected to run out before the end of Sale-a-Bration (Sep 30th), and they won't get more.  When they're gone, they're gone.

This week I decided to show you how to color this paper using 91% Alcohol and reinkers.  You mix it up in a spritzer and spray away!  Very cool, and fairly easy...but MESSY!  One of my spritzers was clogged, and it went everywhere.  Be warned that you might get inky.  :)

Just a reminder that I now go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.

If you were not able to catch me live, you can still watch it on YouTube!  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

Let's start with the gold fish card.  After you spray, dry and die-cut the gold fish, it's simply stamping the "water" and greeting.

Paper measurements:
  • Pumpkin Pie: 4 1/4" x 11", scored in half at 5 1/2".
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Basic Black: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
  • Be Dazzling: 3" x 3", to die cut fish

Here's a close-up of the gold fish.  It's SO SPARKLY!

Finish off with some of the Artistry Blooms sequins.  They're the perfect little bit to add!

Stamps:  Artistically Inked
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Be Dazzling, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Basic White
Other:  Seascape dies, Artistry Blooms sequins

Next I went to my favorite thing - LEAVES!  Again, color your Be Dazzling papers and let them dry before you die-cut.  I found that I had to go back and forth in my machine several times.  There is some glue or string IN the papers holding those sparkly bits together.

Paper measurements:
  • Cinnamon Cider: 4 1/4" x 11", scored in half at 5 1/2".
  • Cinnamon Cider: 4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Timber folder
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Be Dazzling:  3" x 3", and 2" x 3" pieces for different leaves.
  • Very Vanilla: scrap for greeting
I ran an ink cube with dark brown ink over top of the raised up Timber bits to make that embossing stand out.  I love that technique!

Close-up of those SPARKLY leaves - I can't stand it!  SO sparkly!!!

Stamps: Artistically Inked
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Be Dazzling, Cinnamon Cider, Very Vanilla
Other:  Stitched Leaves dies, Timber embossing folder, Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede ribbon, Gilded Gems

For the last card, I was attempting to use a mask to color the Be Dazzling papers.  It didn't work out that great...but good enough.  In real life, you can still faintly see the pattern from the mask.  I sprayed the entire thing in Crushed Curry first, let it dry, then sprayed on Real Red with the mask.

Paper measurements:
  • Basic Black: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4".
  • Melon Mambo: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Bumblebee: 3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
  • Be Dazzling: 3" x 5 1/16"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of card)
  • Basic Black: enough to die-cut with Meadows dies.
  • Basic White: strip to fit your greeting of choice.
Another interesting thing that I discovered is that glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals don't want to stick very well on top of the Be Dazzling papers.  I had to add liquid glue to everything that I wanted to stick on top of those papers.

Stamps:  Artistically Inked
Ink:  Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Basic Black, Basic White, Melon Mambo, Bumblebee, Be Dazzling
Other:  Meadows dies

AFTER ALL THAT - I decided after it was all said and done that you can also color them with your Stampin' Blends markers and that's not messy at all. You will see more of THIS kind of coloring from me in the next month.

Again, be mindful that this paper will run out before the end of Septmber.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
