Hi Crafty Peeps! I am super late getting my blog updated with last Thursday's video. Time just got away from me! Last week, I worked on two projects using some of the products that are retiring on June 30th - that's just a few days away...so this is a reminder to check out the Last Chance section of my online store. Some things that I used in my projects are on sale!
Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.
These two projects are really not related at all in theme - they are just both using SOME product that is going away. I made a follow-up video yesterday, that I am editing now, and will post tonight or tomorrow.
The follow-up video shows me actually applying the Gilded Leafing on a Seashell card, AND I make another Seashell card using the Pearlescent paper with Stampin' Blends and spraying alcohol.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can now watch it on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
The first project that I worked on was the Friends are Like Seashells card. This is a 5" x 7" card, featuring the Sand & Sea designer series papers that are retiring. Get a pack before they're gone! There are no other seashell/beachy papers in the current catalog!
Paper measurements:
- Very Vanilla Thick: 7" x 10". Score in half at 5"
- Gold Metallic (comes Gold and Rose Gold in the pack): 4" x 6" - cut out the inside of this piece to use for something else.
- Sand & Sea Designer Series paper: 3 13/16" x 5 13/16"
- Pearlescent Paper: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", die cut with Seashells die
- Very Vanilla Thick: Scrap to stamp greeting.
I used a piece of the lighter pink background with Melon Mambo and So Saffron veins through it for the background.
After I die-cut the big seashells layer, I embossed that with the Seashells 3-D embossing folder. I absolutely love that the embossing folder matches up with the die! Then I ink-blended color on the Pearlescent Paper with So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo.
Add some Gilded Leafing, and then pop up the shells piece with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then it's just a matter of embossing a greeting, adding some ribbon/trim, and finish off with some Gold Metallic Pearls.
Here's a close-up so you can see the Gilded Leafing, and details. I didn't actually show putting on the Gilded Leafing...which is why I made a follow-up video yesterday.
Stamps: Friends are Like Seashells
Ink: So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Versamark
Paper: Very Vanilla Thick, Gold, Pearlescent, Sand & Sea designer series papers
Other: Seashells dies, Seashells embossing folder, Gold embossing powder, Metallic Pearls (Gold), Scalloped Lace Trim, Vanilla Baker's Twine
My second project is a fun box, featuring the Hey Chick bundle, You are Amazing stamps, Fine Art Floral designer series papers, and the Love You Always Treat boxes - all of which are going away!
This pre-cut/pre-scored box is super easy to assemble, and is a matchbox style that slides. It's so fast to make a paper wrap for the sleeve, then add some decoration to the top.
Here's a close-up of the open box.
Ink: Midnight (Catherine Pooler), Poppy Parade, So Saffon
Paper: Basic Black, So Saffron, White, Silver Foil, Fine Art Floral designer series paper
Other: Layering Circles dies, Bark embossing folder, Embroidered Ribbon, Mossy Meadow 3/8" Braided Trim, Black Matte Dots
I hope you enjoyed both of these projects!
Coming up this Thursday - my July Workshop. Theme is "Fun Day at Sea"!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
