Hi Crafty Friends! Yesterday, I demonstrated my RETIREMENT Workshop for 2021. Every year, I have a Retirement Workshop featuring products that are retiring. Stamps, papers, colors, dies, punches, doo-dads...whatever I have. I had a lot of fun coming up with these cards to showcase some retiring products!
Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can still watch it
on my Demonstrator Page later, OR on YouTube. If the picture does not
appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
Let's dive in to the first card. I started off with the Christmas card. I've got a Just Jade card base, with a layer of Poppy Parade. These TWO colors are NOT retiring. They just happen to be from this particular piece of patterned paper.
I used the poinsettia piece from the Flowers for Every Season designer series paper pack as a background layer. This is a 6" x 6" pack, so after I cut my layer I took the left-over bit and cut out one of the poinsettias.
I've got a 2" circle punched out of Poppy Parade, which I then embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. Layer that on a bit of Poppy Parade punched with the Starburst punch...which APPARENTLY has already been retired, and I did not realize that. :( Pop that whole thing on the front of the card, and add the cut-out poinsettia with some Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp the greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas in Just Jade, and punch out with the Classic Label punch. This is also popped up. Finish up with a little bow of Just Jade ribbon.
Retiring Products on this card: Buffalo Check Background stamp, Country Home and Hey Chick stamp sets...that's it!

Moving around to the second card, next up is the lighthouse card. I really like this light house - it's a two-step stamp set, and it's really easy enough to line up and hand-cut. My color scheme for this card is Basic Gray and Smoky Slate. These are NOT retiring colors.
I used the High Tide and Healing Hugs stamp sets for this card. Let's start with the card base - Basic Gray. Then I've got a layer of Smoky Slate, which I embossed with the Subtle embossing folder...sadly, this is retiring. It's a great all-purpose embossing folder. Then I took a piece of paper from the Well Suited designer series paper pack (it's in the January - June Catalog), and ripped both ends...I wanted that white edge to show. Glue that right down to the card front.
Next, I used the Stitched Nested Labels dies to cut out a piece of Basic Gray cardstock, and than ran THAT bit through with the Old World Paper embossing folder. That's another favorite folder of mine. :( Notice the darker areas on the label? I ran my Basic Gray ink pad across the raised bits. Be careful if you're doing this with a foam ink pad. My Basic Gray is very old, and is linen.
Stamp and hand-cut the lighthouse and pop that up. The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray and punched out with the Story Label punch. Finish off with some Clear & Frosted Epoxy Droplets.

Card #3 makes me smile. The Buffalo Check background has been a staple for so many years - I can't live without it! It pairs nicely with the chicken, and this jar-shaped tag that I got from my mom.
The jar matches very closely with Poppy Parade, so that's what I went with. I've got a Poppy Parade card base, with a Basic Black layer. Then a layer of Crumb Cake, that I stamped the Buffalo Check background on, with Poppy Parade ink.
The greeting from Country Home is stamped directly on the tag in black ink. I stamped the chick from Hey Chick (this is only available until 6/30, or while supplies last). Color the chick in with several markers, and cut out using the matching dies. He's popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Finish off with some Poppy Parade ribbon that retired a couple of years ago, and some Matte Black Dots.
Last, but not least, Card #4 is my favorite of this bunch! Loyal Leaves....so pretty, and I am sad to see them go. I wanted to use up my Pretty Peacock card stock, but I didn't want everyone to HAVE to HAVE the Pretty Peacock ink pad...so embossing is the solution!
The card base is Pretty Peacock, with another piece of Pretty Peacock embossed with the Tin Tile embossing folder. This embossing folder is absolutely gorgeous, and I feel like it's another all-purpose pattern.
I grabbed THREE different colors of Foil and clear embossed the leaves on each. Hand-cut those. Clear emboss the greeting as well, and voila - no need for Pretty Peacock ink! Everything is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, and finished with some Champagne rhinestones (these are NOT retiring...they just look so pretty on the card!).
Retiring Products on this card: Loyal Leaves stamp set, Tin Tile embossing folder, Metallic Ribbon Combo (this actually retired with the last Aug-Dec catalog), Pretty in Peacock card stock, Foil papers (ALL except for Gold and Copper are retiring).
I just checked, and I think the Pretty Peacock cardstock has already run out. Hope you got some, if you wanted it!
