Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I tried a little something NEW with my St. Patrick's Day cards this year - digital scrapbook paper.  A scrapbooking friend, Caryn, is currently on the design team for Theresa Collins Studio.  I saw a video last week or so, where Caryn made a few scrapbook pages using the TCS products.  I was intrigued, and immediately bought the St. Patrick's Day files.

I have NEVER used digital scrapbooking paper for anything other than making backgrounds for my phone, and little images for my blog here.  I had no idea how to use them to make real cards.  Turns out, it could not be easier.  The download that I purchased had about 15 different "digital papers".  They all come in PDF and PNG formats, and they are sized 8 1/2 x 11.  The easiest thing to do is print the PDFs - that's what I did.  I fed White cardstock through my laser printer, and am very happy with the results.  You can also use the PNG files and make them different sizes, or just clip out a bit...that is where my knowledge of these things ends.  I was able to print (3) different pages, and trim them up to layer on my cards.  I call that a success!

All of the background layers on these cards are from Theresa Collins Studio.

All I did was stamp and color in some images, and add to the card fronts.  This particular plaid gave me the hardest time trying to find a matching color, so I mounted it on a black card base and gold-embossed the edges.  I thought I'd play up the gold to tie it all together.  I think it works!

Next up is a fun shamrock print - I love all the different sizes and shade of green here.  It was easy enough to find some matching colors in my current stash.

For the last batch, I used the same leprechaun and a different patterned paper.  I like that these are plaid.

Some of these stamps are very old, and you may not be able to find them.  The leprechaun in particlar comes from a set from The Angel Company...I've had it at least 15 years.
