The You are Amazing Kit is really fun to work with, and you will love these bright, colorful, cheery cards! This kit contains all of card components and envelopes to finish your projects. The stamp set is separate, but you could really use anything that fits inside the pieces.
The
kit makes 16 cards total, WITH envelopes. Half of the envelopes have a Mango Melody lining color, and the other half have a Pretty Peacock lining color.
There are four card designs, with four cards of each design. If you
watch the video, you will see that I made some "alternates"...but I still stuck with using the You are Amazing stamp set for all fthe cards.
Let's get to it! I demonstrated making these cards this morning on Facebook. If you did not catch me live, you can still watch it on my Demonstrator Page later, OR you can click the picture below to view it on YouTube. If there in picture, you can click HERE to view it on YouTube.
Let's take a closer look at each of the card designs. I love the striped print on these cards - it uses all (4) of the colors in the kit. This is great, because you can stamp your greeting in ANY of them, and it looks good. Someone asked during the Facebook Live, if you can stamp in black. ALWAYS. YES. You can always stamp your greetings in black, as a generic catch-all color.
Some closer pictures - you can see that I didn't really go overboard with my alternates. I used the You are Amazing stamp set for all of the. I just added some extra bits and bobs, and changed up the layouts.
Next up is some flowery background cards. I love this print - the flowers are Mango Melody and Pretty Peacock. Very nice together.
More close ups - I think my favorites are the ones with Mango Melody stamping. I like that ink color the best with these particular cards.
Next up are some bright, cheery cards. I love this foiled card base - the Pretty Peacock with polka dot foils really pops.
Again, some close-ups to give you a better view - notice that I wrapped that baker's twine through the top of the vellum tag. That's a neat effect, and was part of the original card design.
I have to say - my favorite card from this batch is the "You are Amazing" card on the right of this picture. I cut the top of the large vellum tag off, and kept the rick-a-rack edge peeking out from the bottom. Turned the printed layer, and add the greeting bubble kind of down and to the right.
Last card design was more flowers. This flowery background layer was directional - the flowers are all facing in one direction, so I couldn't really change around the layout too much. But I made it work by using all (4) ink colors!
I only got one close-up picture - you can see that the greeting banner piece is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, as is the whole flowery layer. I added some Gold Glittered Enamel Dots.
That's it! I've got 16 cards in my stash, ready to go. In fact, I need to get (2) birthday cards out today (SHOULD have mailed them earlier in the week!), so I'm already going to be putting these to good use.
Thanks for joining me today! Next week, I'm going to make a 5" x 7" mini scrapbook using the True Love Designer Series paper pack!
