This week, I shared a few different ideas for making some interesting gift card holders - something a little more than just sticking it in an envelope.
Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.
If
you did not catch me live, you can still watch it on my Demonstrator Page later, OR on YouTube. If the picture does not appear
below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
For those of you not into videos, I'll
give a brief description of what I did for each project. All of the
paper cutting and scoring measurements are provided in the description
of the YouTube video.
The first project was a gift card holder using a TOILET PAPER ROLL as the base. Yes. You heard right. Smash it down flat, cover it with paper, and add some ribbon! I used a 6" x 6" piece of the Wonder of the Season Specialty papers, and some gold foil to die-cut the bells (SORRY - the Sounds of the Season dies ran out the day after I aired this video.)
Ink: Onxy (Versafine)
Paper: Wonder of the Season Specialty dsps, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Other: Gold 1/4" Shimmer ribbon, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
Next up, I used an Acetate Card Box as a gift card holder. The idea here is that this box will hold those gift cards that you buy at the grocery store, Walmart/Target/etc - the ones that are packaged in a larger piece of card board. That will fit right in here, along with some small, flat-ish gifts.
The designer series paper is cut and scored, so that it fits inside the box. Think of a wrap, but INSIDE the box.
The tags are made using the Stitched Nested Labels dies, and some punches. The Forever Greenery Trim is wrapped all the way around the box - that Vanilla trim is so gauzy, and it really ties a nice bow.
Ink: Garden Green
Paper: Poinsettia Place designer series paper, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Vellum
Other: Stitched Nested Labels dies, Sprig punch, 2" and 1 3/4" circle punches, Forevery Greenery trim, Pearls, Acetate Card Box
For the last project, I wanted to make a pizza box big enough to hold some kind of treat along with a gift card. I picked up a box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree cakes at Walmart for some projects, and that ended up being a perfect fit. Cutting and scoring directions are in the description of the YouTube video, so scroll back up and click on that if you want the measurements.
These pizza boxes measure 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" tall.
I stamped and hand-cut the ornament. Greeting is embossed and punched out. Snowflake Splendor ribbon is wrapped and tied around the box, then the greeting is attached over that with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a single Gilded Gem to the ornament to finish it off.
Stamps: Tag Buffet (retiring!)

Ink: Versamark
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Classic Christmas designer series paper (limited time item)
Other: Snowflake Splendor 1/4" ribbon, Lovely Label punch, Gold embossing powder, Gilded Gems.
Don't forget about my December Workshop - you can get a roll of this Snowflake Splendor ribbon for FREE, along with a make-n-take kit!
Next Thursday is Christmas Eve, but I'll still go Live with a few Holiday TAG ideas. Personally, I'm always last minute wrapping on Christmas Eve, so these tags will come in handy.
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
