No Line Coloring Technique

In this video, I show you THREE ways to do the No Line Coloring Technique.  The general principal is the same for all - stamp your image very lightly (I used Sahara Sand stamped off once), then color in, and over the lines.  Simple, right?  The differences are in the paper and coloring mediums that you use.

If you didn't catch me live this past Thursday, you can view it on YouTube.  If the picture below does not appear, you can click HERE to get to it.

If videos are not your thing, I'll give you an explanation of how I did each card here...

First up is the most time consuming, but I think the best "watercoloring" look.  You stamp your image on watercolor paper, then use a water pen/Aqua painter and inks to watercolor the image. This takes a long time because you can only work on a few parts of the image at a time, otherwise the water all bleeds and blends together.

I used Magenta Madness, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, and Just Jade to watercolor these roses.  I could only do a few petals at a time ,and had to let it dry, then do a few more and let that dry.

When it was all said and done, I gold-embossed some sprinkles and the greeting.

Stamps:  To a Wild Rose, Seaside Notions (greeting), Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Colors:  Magenta Madness, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Just Jade, Versamark
Other:  Gold embossing powder, Wink of Stella pens (clear and gold)

The second method to do No Line Coloring is to use Watercolor Pencils and Blender pens.  Again, stamp your image lightly, and then color over it.  I feel like you have more control over the coloring, when using the pencils.  It's definitely a different look from the first card.  I did use the THICK Whisper White cardstock here, to help preventing the paper from pilling up using the blender pen.

Stamps:  Gather Together, Ornate Thanks
Colors:  Early Espresso, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White THICK
Other: Watercolor pencils, Blender pens, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, Linen Thread

The third method for the No Line Coloring technique is to use Stampin' Blends markers and Shimmery White cardstock.  Again, stamp images lightly, and then color right over top.  I prefer the Shimmery White card stock when using the Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers), but any THICK card stock will do.

I added some Artistry Blooms sequins to finish off this card.

Stamps:  Seaside Notions
Colors:  Bermuda Bay, Basic Black
Other:  Stampin' Blends markers in various shades - some are no longer available (Coastal Cabana Medium, Pool Party Dark, Calypso Coral Dark, Pumpkin Pie Medium), Artistry Blooms sequins

I hope you are encouraged to give one of these methods a try.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
