Perfectly Plaid - two cards, one tree punched

With ONE punched out tree, I got two cards out of it.  One uses the punched out tree, the other uses the piece left from punching it out.

I started with the card on the left.  I punched the Pine Tree Punch out of a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Set the tree aside, and then used the Stitched Shapes dies to cut out a stitched circle around the punched out tree.

Add a strip of Night Before Christmas designer series paper to the front of a Crumb Cake card, and then pop that circle/tree bit up with some dimensionals.  Add some rhinestones to the inside of the tree, like ornaments.

Greeting was stamped on a scrap of Crushed Curry card stock, and hand-cut.  Attach with mini dimensionals and glue dots.

Easy peasy, but I like the look of it!

For the second card, it is done COMPLETELY in Very Vanilla.  I took the punched out tree, and embossed it with the Swirls & Curls folder.  I popped that up on a stitched circle, from the Stitched Shapes dies, and a scallop from the Layering Circles dies.

A Very Vanilla piece embossed with the Scripty folder, is glued on to the Very Vanilla card base.  Emboss the greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas in gold, and hand-cut it.  Finish with A LOT of pearls to make garland.

I love all vanilla, or all white cards sometimes.

Does this give you an idea how you can use a punch that you have to make two cards this way?  Check your punches, and give it a try!
