Happy Birthday die - two cards from one

It just so happens that this Happy Birthday die is retiring - but I did not know that last week when I designed this card for Stamp Club.   I cut the die out of Gold Foil, and then separate the Happy from Birthday.  Just a few snips - there are only three places that connect the words.



Both cards are the same design, just different supporting words. The card base is Fresh Fig (retiring color!), then a layer of Mossy Meadow, followed by one of the printed vellums from the Floral Romance designer series paper pack mounted on the same size Whisper White.

The trick that I found to mount this vellum with no tape showing is to use Glue Dots behind the purple flowers.  Some of the leaves hide the glue dots as well.  You just need a hand full to attach it to the Whisper White.

 Once you have the card base, start building your center piece.  I started with a 2 1/4" circle of Petal Pink, then layered a 2 1/2" (LARGER!) circle of the other vellum print, again from the Floral Romance pack.  I attached the gold words with mini glue dots, folded in half.  I only used a few.

Punch some Pear Pizzazz card stock out with the Leaf Punch, and some Mossy Meadow card stock with the Sprig Punch.  Attach all those on the back with more glue dots.  Pop the entire thing up with a lot of Stampin' Dimensionals.

 The stamped words are from the Well Said bundle.  It's a BIG greeting set, but it's got a lot of options.  I stamped the words on scraps of Whisper White, using Fresh Fig ink.  Hand-cut them, and pop up with more Stampin' Dimensionals.

I used both "Happy" and "Birthday" to make two different, but similar cards.

Look at your dies, and see if there are any that could be cut to make something different.  Get more bang for you bucks!
