Happy St. Patrick's Day! Treat box and tag

I didn't end up making any St. Patrick's Day cards this year - which is disappointing.  I really like to make some unexpected holiday cards!  But all is not lost - I was in Royal Farms the other day and saw this display of Leprechaun Snowballs...I had an idea, and this entire project is based on these cakes.  :)  They're so cute, and GREEN!

I wanted to make a box to hold all my treats, and then slide it into a bag, like a loaf of bread.  No lid for the box - this is an open-faced box of treats!

I measured the snowballs, and came up with my box dimensions based on that.  I'm going to share how to make the box, AND the cute leprechaun tag.  I cased the leprechaun from PinkBuckaroo.  I love this one, but there are plenty of ways to make a leprechaun using different punches.

1.  Cut your card stock:  8" x 11".  I used Call Me Clover

2.  Stamp it all over - you could stamp both sides.  I only did one side.  You can't tell, but I actually used 3 different colors to stamp my different shamrocks.  Call Me Clover, Emerald Envy, and Cucumber Crush.  Disappointing that I can't see any difference in the picture.  There IS a difference, but only slight.

3.  Score all four sides at 1 3/4".

4.  Cut your box flaps, score everything with a bone folder, and use sturdy tape to form your box.

5.  Fill box with shreddie, add the cakes and candys.  Slide into a really big gusseted bag and tie shut with ribbon.  The bag that I had was maybe 8" x 17"...I've got a bunch in my stash.  The baking section of Walmart, Joann's, and even Michael's has all sorts of food-safe bags and containers.

6.  Make the tag using the following punches, along with with the Hello Cupcake stamp (for the beard).  I stamped the cupcake icing on Pumpkin Pie card stock, and hand-cut.

Punches:  1 1/4" circle (face), 1/2" circle (nose) , Curly Label (hat), Word Window (had brim).  Hand-cut a thin strip of Black for the hat.

Colors:  Blushing Bride, Call Me Clover, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie

7.  You need to cut a little bit off the bottom of the Curly Label punched out piece, and then straighten out the sides.  Attach black strip and green Word Window punched out bit with glue dots.  Here is front and back pics of the hat.

8.  Assemble leprechaun with glue dots.  The only thing I popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (mini) was the nose.  Hand-draw the eyes in with a black marker.

9.  The tag base is a piece of Lemon Lime Twist, stamped with the stripes from Gorgeous Grunge with the same color.  Then I layered on a 2 1/4" circle of Pumpkin Pie, followed by a 2" circle of Whisper White with some of the blood splats from Gorgeous Grunge stamped in Call Me Clover.

10.  Pop the leprechaun on the tag with plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped the words from two different sets, and hand-cut.  Attach them with glue dots, and one mini dimensional behind "Happy".   Finish off with a few rhinestones.

Here's the whole tag - you can see that I punched the top of the tag with the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  Tie some Whisper White Baker's Twine through to attach to the package.

So, a $1.00 pack of green snowball cupcakes turned into this!  Make a box and fill with your own treats for a quick gift.
