Snowman Gift Tags

These are my Old Faithful gifts - a big coffee mug filled with cake-in-a-mug mix, hot cocoa, candy, and lottery scratchers!  You could put anything in them really - the important part of this packaging is the TAGS!  I love that I have paper, stamps, and doo-dads to make ANY tag match whatever I need it to!

These tags started off with the question, "Which colors match the mugs that I found?"  Real Red and Shaded Spruce.  I want to do plaid, so I'll add black too.

Next question was, "Which stamp set do I want to use, in addition to the Buffalo Check background?"  Easy enough.  I wanted something small enough to not over-power the tag.  My tendency is to look around my mess of a craft space and whatever my eye hits first is the winner.  This time it was an old stamp set (from probably 16 years ago) that I recently re-purchased, called "Sweet & Simple Salutations".  I like the snowman in that set.

I like to build different elements for the tag.  I wanted to use some new tag dies that I just got from My Favorite Things.  They are shaped with the notched corners, and stitched around the edges.  Perfect!  I ripped the bottom off, for no particular reason other than I thought it would look cool.  So that was my tag base.

I colored and hand-cut the snowmen, then glittered them.  Then I made a base of a 2 1/4" stamped circle, on top of a 2 1/2" White circle.  I stamped the same "Happy Holidays" on scraps of Whisper White, and hand-cut those as well.  Some dimensionals and liquid glue...and here you have them.  Rhinestones to finish.

Notice how nice and dark my Buffalo Check background is stamped?  That's because I used the Stamparatus and inked and stamped it FOUR or FIVE times to get it that even.  I stamped an entire 1/4 sheet of cardstock for each tag, and then cut the tag out with the dies.

The back side of the tag could not be empty - so I added a little something and signed them.

I hope you enjoy these tags.  A nice tag can really make a package amazing!  This is just a large gusset bag and some ribbon for the packaging.  The tag is what really makes it super special.
