I'm officially naming this technique "Black Ice"! It's so cool! We saw this demonstrated at Stampin' Up's Convention last month, and I've been dying to try it out.
So you may be wondering....what is Black Ice? It's Black embossing powder and Iridescent Ice embossing powder mixed together. Equal parts. I just dumped an entire container of each into a bowl, and will keep it this way. Another good use for those old Cool Whip containers we all have laying around...yet we can't bring ourselves to throw them out. Mixed it up, and it's ready to go -
The treat holder itself is a Vellum envelope. I inked up the Chevron embossing folder with Versamark, and ran the entire envelope through with the folder. Quickly put the Black Ice on the Versamarked/embossed envelope, tap off the excess, and then heat set it. I chopped the very end off with some old wavy scissors that I still have.
The back is embossed from the folder, but I didn't ink it up or put the Black Ice on it. Left it plain.
The tag was made using an old pre-cut tag that I had in my stash. I stamped it, and then hand cut a Lucky Limeade layer behind it.
I can't wait to do some more with this Black Ice! Hope you enjoy it too!
