Christmas in July 2026 Projects

It's about time that I got these projects uploaded for you!  Wow...it's been a busy week, and I should be heading to bed since it's already well after midnight, but here I am still working on things.  :(  This past Thursday, I kicked off the month with some Christmas in July projects.  As you will notice - a lot of the products that I used are not current.  That's because I don't have any current stamps or dies for the holidays.  Even though there are few Christmas things in the July Online Exclusives, I'm holding out for the Sep-Dec catalog.  Plus, this gave me a chance to go back to some old favorites that I'm sure some of you still have too!  Shop your stash and see what you can use!

As crafters, Christmas/Holidays is generally the most popular event that we create for.  We make cards, tags, boxes, bags, scrapbook pages, mini albums, folios, planners, gift card holders, ornaments, banners, framed art...just to name a few.  I took just three things from that list and came up with some ideas.

Don't forget that my BOGO Sale is still going on... You can find all of the details and information on THIS blog post.  BOGO Sale ends on July 15, 2026.  If you have any questions at all, please email me and ask!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.

I started off with some TAGS.  I love making tags because they're so useful.  Tie them on a plain handled gift bag, tie them on a package, tie them on a little treat, add them to a plain lunch bag to doll it up, add them to a scrapbook or journal.  Lots of ways to incorporate tags into your gift giving.

I've been wanting to create these "rustic trees" for a very long time, and this turned out to be a perfect project for using scraps of paper!  All you need are THREE squares, but in half diagonally, to build your trees.  To save you the trouble - I used 1 1/2", 2", and 2 1/2" squares for all of these ornaments.  I didn't even cut the squares completely straight, because it doesn't matter.

Arrange your triangles to and fro, starting at the bottom and layering up to the smaller pieces.  Add a scrap of brown for the tree stump.

It was fun to use some of the new Mini Christmas Buttons and Adhesive-Backed Blooms as the "ornaments".   I love non-traditional colors for my holiday projects!  There is plenty of room to write on the back of these tags.

Paper Measurements:
  • Peaceful Pine/Highland Heather/Strawberry Slush (Tag BASE):  4 1/2"ish cut with Scalloped Blooms die
  • Crumb Cake/Fresh Freesia/Luxe White (Tag layer):  3 3/4"ish cut with Scalloped Blooms die
  • Various designer series papers to cut into your squares, then triangles to build trees.  Use SCRAPS!
  • Pecan Pie/Crumb Cake:  tiny scrap for tree trunks
  • Basic White:  again...scraps to stamp greetings
Individual pictures -

Traditional colors - Peaceful Pine with Red button ornaments.  The Crumb Cake layer was already embossed with the retired Pinewood Planks folder.  I pulled that from my scraps pile and cut the scallop.

White tree with Freesia Blooms for ornaments.

Made this one off-camera.  Strawberry Slush base with Pretty in Pink and Bubble Bath designer series papers for the tree.

Punch a hole in the top and add various ribbons.

Stamps:  Good Greetings (retired)
Ink:  Real Red, Highland Heather
Paper:  Peaceful Pine, Crumb Cake, Fern Flora DSP, 2026-2028 In Color Gingham DSP, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Luxe White Specialty DSP, Strawberry Slush, Everyday Essentials Mix & Match DSP, Basic White
Other:  Scalloped Blooms dies, Christmas Buttons, Blooms, Peaceful Pine ribbon, Linen Thread, Fresh Freesia Seam Binding, Bubble Bath ribbon, White Baker's Twine

My second project is a gift card holder using the old Bigz dies that I have - Stocking and Stocking Accents.  There is a new stocking bundle in the July Online Exclusives, but it's not really my style.  These dies that I have are quite a bit bigger, but you get the idea!

I layered 2 1/2 stocking die-cuts to make this gift card holder.  The top most layer is embossed with the Forever Plaid folder.  I had to back that with another stocking to make it sturdy enough.

Add the stocking cuff, some holly leaves and more of the Christmas Buttons!  Customize this gift card holder by using the Mini Alphabet die - or whatever right-size alphabet dies that you have!  I can't be the only one that has at least 10 different sets of alphabet and number dies in every size you could ever need.  I have a hard time passing them up because you never know what size or style will be perfect for a project.  I did run a Clear Shimmer brush over all of the letters

Have you noticed that the toe and heel are FLOWERS?  I had just a scrap of Cherry Cobbler DSP and cut those pieces backwards.  Doh!

The other 1/2 stocking is glued to the back to make the gift card pocket!  Add a ribbon loop so that you can hang this gift card holder in your tree if you want.

Paper Measurements:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  (3) 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", to cut 3 full sets of the stocking base pieces
  • Basic White:  2 1/4" x 4", to die-cut the cuff
  • Mossy Meadow:  scraps to die-cut holly leaves
  • Cherry Cobbler:  scraps to die-cut letters
Stamps:  none
Ink:  none
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Basic White, Cherry Cobbler dsp (retired print)
Other:  Stocking and Accent Bigz dies, Mini Alphabet dies, Christmas Buttons, Clear Shimmer brush, White Glittered Organdy ribbon

My last project is a Christmas card.  Really easy design using an old Tree punch.  Use whatever punch or die that you have - it could be a tree, an ornament, a smallish stocking...whatever you have that will fit.  I did use the new Swirls of Magic embossing folder, from the July Online Exclusives.  It's in the Halloween section, but it's really going to be good for just about any occasion.

Peaceful Pine and the new Gingham papers to the rescue for this one!  I love a monotone card.

Paper Measurements:
  • Peaceful Pine:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • In Color Gingham DSP (Peaceful Pine):  3 1/4" x 5 1/2", plus scrap to punch the tree
  • Peaceful Pine:  1" x 5 1/2", embossed with Swirls of Magic embossing folder
  • Peaceful Pine:  2 1/2" Circle
  • Basic White:  2 1/4" circle
  • Basic White:  scrap for greeting
Stamp some speckles on that white circle, just to give it some interest.

The only things popped up are the tree and the greeting.  Finish off with a few In Color Dots

Stamps:  Good Greetings, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Ink:  Peaceful Pine
Paper:  Peaceful Pine, Basic White, 2026-2028 In Color Gingham Designer Series Paper
Other:  Swirls of Magic embossing folder, 2 1/4" and 2 1/2" Circle punches, Pine tree punch, 2026-2028 In Color Dots

I hope you enjoyed these Christmas ideas, and can find some products in your stash to make some of your own!

This coming Thursday I'll be creating with some of the Black & White patterned papers that we have - from THREE different packs!
