Happy Easter friends! I really should be heading to bed soon, but I do want to share these projects with you all. I spent most of today finalizing all of my tax paperwork (doesn't look like a good SU year! doh!), but I wanted to get into my craft room and put some finishing touches on these projects and share.
Thursday night was all about creating with the Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series papers. NOTE: They are back in stock now! Get 'em while they're hot! They are part of the Lovely & Beautiful Suite, which is in the January-April 2026 Catalog...so they won't be around forever. I am very surprised that these gorgeous papers are NOT in the Last Chance list. I suspect that's an error, because they generally don't keep papers around like that...especially when they have an OUTGOING In Color (Peach Pie) in them.
I had a 1/4 pack of this paper to work with. I was in the Paper Share for the Jan-Apr catalog myself. Between these projects and a BONUS Mini Album base, I used nearly every scrap of paper that I had. Winning! That's what I love to see! WE all need to use our papers folks. I hope you love what I've created.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously, but I recommend viewing on YouTube.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it.
First up is a Tri-Panel Arched card, and it fits in a medium envelope! I used the largest two sizes of the Everyday Arches dies. Cut all of those panels, and glue to a Petal Pink base to make the card. I used butterflies, but you could use any flower, bird, butterflies, dragonflies...any flying thing to go with this card.
Paper Measurements:
- Petal Pink base: 3" x 8 1/2", scored at 4", 8"
- Petal Pink base: 3" x 4"
- Petal Pink arches: (3) 4 1/4" x 5 1/4", cut with largest die
- Lovely & Beautiful DSP: (2) 3 5/8" x 5", cut with second largest die
- Basic White: 3 5/8" x 5", cut with second largest die
- Gold Foil: scraps to die-cut butterflies
Lighting wasn't great when I took these pictures at 10:30pm...but you get the idea.
Top-ish view, standing up.
Finish off with some Brass Butterflies and then sequins from an old ephemera kit.
Stamps: Simply Said, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Old Olive
Paper: Petal Pink, Basic White, Gold Foil, Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
Other: Everyday Arches dies, Beautiful Butterflies dies, Brass Butterflies, Expressionsin Ink Ephemera pack
Next up is a fold that I'm calling a High-Low Double Dutch Door. I saw it last week, but didn't catch the name of the fold. I think it was from On Y Go Stamping. It ends up being a triple panel card. You will need to watch the video to see how to cut the Peach Pie and Fresh Freesia base pieces.
Open the left side...
Paper Measurements:
- Base #1, Peach Pie: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".
- Base #2, Fresh Freesia: 5 1/4" x 8", scored at 4"
- DSP #1: 3 1/4" x 4"
- DSP #2: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
- Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
- Fresh Freesia: scrap to die-cut circle with Spotlight on Nature dies
- Peach Pie: 2 3/8" circle
- Fresh Freesia & Basic White: 2" circles
- Basic White: 1 3/4" circle
- Basic White: scrap to stamp/die-cut butterfly
Again, I added butterflies. Finished off with some Party Dots and Brass Butterflies
Stamps: Simply Said, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Peach Pie, Fresh Freesia
Paper: Peach Pie, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Lovely & Beautiful DSP
Other: Spotlight on Nature dies, Beautiful Butterflies dies, 2 3/8"/2"/1 3/4" Circle punches, Brass Butterflies, Party Dots, Clear Shimmer brush
Third project is a gift bag created from a full 6" x 12" piece of the paper! I added a cardstock handle, and then gold-embossed a butterfly to put on the front. I'm not sure who/what occasion I'm going to use this bag for yet, so I didn't put any words/greetings on it. Finished bag size is 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall x 1 1/2" deep.
Paper Measurements:
- Lovely & Beautiful DSP: 6" x 12". Pay attention to the direction of your pattern. You want it going landscape.
- Score on the 12" side at 4 1/4", 5 3/4", 10", 11 1/2"
- Turn your paper to the RIGHT one turn, and score at 1 1/2"
- Fresh Freesia handle: 1 716" x 11"
- Vellum: scrap to stamp/gold-emboss/die-cut largest butterflie
Add some Pearlized Faceted Circles to finish. Better picture with the light.
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Fresh Freesia, Vellum cardstock, Lovely & Beautiful DSP
Other: Beautiful Butterflies dies, Pearlized Faceted Circles, Gilded Sparkle embossing powder (Brutus Monroe)
Last thing that I made is a card and matching envelope. WARNING: I messed up the envelope during the live video, so I'm giving you correct measurements and pictures. The concept of how to build the envelope is the same as I showed in the video...I just had my measurements wrong.
The card is very simple. I took the gold foile/white piece of DSP and ink bended some colors on to the flowers/leaves. Then I stamped/die-cut a few butterflies and added those. Bold greeting strip is layered and glued down flat.
Paper Measurements:
- Fresh Freesia: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
- Lovely & Beautiful DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Peach Pie: 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 1 5/8" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: scrap to stamp/die-cut butterflies
For the envelope -
- Fresh Freesia: 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". Score 3 sides at 1/2". Score 1" from top. Cut corners according to this picture.
- DSP: 4 1/2" x 6"
Stamps: With You in Mind, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Peach Pie, Fresh Freesia
Paper: Fresh Freesia, Peach Pie, Basic White, Lovely & Beautiful DSP
Other: Beautiful Butterflies dies, Party Dots (Peach Pie), Rainbow Dots (Fresh Freesia)
For the GRAND FINALE - I showed this Mini Album base at the start of the video. I used THREE 6" x 12" pieces of the DSP to make this book. Same concept as the Beach Time Mini that I made last week, but with one less piece of paper. I did not put the closure on, or anything yet. Just this base. I'll file this away in my pile of mini albums - I love it!!! I love all of these gorgeous prints together, and that you get to see both sides of every piece!
I bound the pages together today with gold/white baker's twine and a 3-hole pamphlet stitch. Then I rounded the corners. It's ready to be worked on at a later date. :)
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
