Party Alphabet and Banners Bundle - My creative projects using these dies!

Good evening Crafty Friends!

Tonight, I really enjoyed sharing my original projects using these Party Alphabet and Banner dies.  I did have some whoopsies - sometimes things don't work out like I expected them to.  It's not the end of the world, and in the end, I love how these projects all turned out.  I hope you do too!

I have to state up front - this bundle is very expensive.  $125 before shipping and tax.  That is a huge investment for your craft room.  You can obviously purchase separately.  The first thing that comes to most people's minds about the alphabet dies is scrapbooking.  Yes, that's true.  That was my first thought too.  But then I thought of other things we use letters on - notebooks, mini albums, journals, gift bags, tags of ALL sorts and sizes, and even cards.  Lots of things other than scrapbooking.

The Party Banner dies are multi-purpose as well.   You can use those on the same things that I said above.  Lots of possibilities.

Having said that - you can copy my projects using whatever alphabet or banner/shape dies that you have!  Make it work!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.  NOTE:  Facebook has been behaving poorly for quite some time, so I recommend viewing on YouTube.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

First project features the Party Alphabet dies.  I was thinking of Memorial Day when I designed this, but I'm actually going to use it for a birthday card for a friend.  I cut the letters out of Basic White cardstock, then lined them up on my scratch paper.  Stamp the stripes first...I did an okay job of eye-balling those stripes.  Stamp the blue stars last.

Pop the letters up on the Dotted Circles embossed layer of white.

Paper Measurements:
  • Real Red:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Blueberry Bushel:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White:  3 3/4" x 5", embossed with Dotted Circles folder
  • Basic White:  scraps to die-cut letters and stamp greeting banner
Finish off with some Sparkling Gems.

Try to think of other 2-3 letter words/sayings that would fit.  I already got some suggestions in a YouTube comment (thanks Cindi!) - MOM, DAD, SIS, BRO.   I would also throw in HB, LUV, YOU, things that you can add small words above or below.  Like LUV "you", "love" YOU.  HB "to you".  "celebrate" YOU.  "miss" YOU.   get it...?

Stamps:  Stripes & Dots, Round We Go
Ink:  Real Red, Blueberry Bushel
Paper:  Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Basic White
Other:  Dotted Circles embossing folder, Party Alphabet dies, Sparkle Gems

Up next is what popped in my head the minute I saw the Banner dies....turn them upside down and we have Rustic Kitties.  I cannot stand how cute these are!  These remind me of some rough-cut wood cats that my mom had.    This one might be my favorite from tonight.  It's really a toss up between this and the USA card.

One of the whoopsies I had in the video tonight was the whiskers.  I PREPARED ahead of time - glued three colors of baker's twine on to my silicone mat with my Art Glitter Glue.  I did that earlier in the week, thinking it would dry completely hard and be ready to use.

I forgot that the Art Glitter Glue dries completely, but stays flexible.  GREAT for making albums and other projects.  :)  Not great when I wanted stiff whiskers.  I figured it out, thanks to my friend Gail.

I added the Pretty in Pink Shimmer gems as noses after the fact.  Right before I took these pictures, actually.  So cute.

Paper Measurements:
  • Crumb Cake:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Very Vanilla:  (2) 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic Beige/Basic White/Basic Black:  scraps to die-cut banner kitties
Largest kitty is glued down flat, others are popped up.

Stamps:  Stripes & Dots, Round We Go
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Basic White, Basic Beige, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Other:  Party Banner dies, Basics Baker's Twine (black & white), Sparkle Gems, In Color Shimmer Gems

The third card is a Shaker Card, using the Party Alphabet dies to cut out the shaker part to say HI.  I filled it with some retired bits, and added a cactus using an old favorite set - Cactus Cuties.

I'm not terribly thrilled that "friend" ended up in the very middle of the card - that was not intentional.

Paper Measurements:
  • Mossy Meadow:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4'
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Petunia Pop:  3 3/4" x 5"
  • Thoughtful Journey DSP:  3 5/8" x 4 7/8", cut with HI letters
  • Acetate/Transparency sheet: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Basic White:  3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Basic White/Petunia Pop:  scraps to stamp/hand-cut cactus and greeting
Added some more Shimmer Gems to finish it off.  SAVE the letters that you cut out and use on a different project!

Stamps:  Everyday Greetings, Cactus Cuties
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Pecan Pie, Petunia Pop
Paper:  Mossy Meadow, Petunia Pop, Basic White, Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper
Other:  Party Alphabet dies, In Color Shimmer Gems

The last card from tonight is a Banner-shaped card.  I used the largest banner die to make this banner card.  The fold is on the left side.  Finished size is 5ish" x 7"!  I put the ruler next to it to show...forgot that my watermark would go over that bottom corner.  :(  Ooopsie!

I decorated the front of this card using ephemera from the Wildflower Birthday DSP pack and the Greetings for All Ephemera pack.  Color in the "happy birthday" to suit your card.  I used Pool Party Blends markers.

I could have dolled this up more, but I thought this was enough.  I liked the banner on a banner...

Paper Measurements:
  • Pool Party:  8 1/2" x 11", scored at 5 1/2", cut down to fit largest banner die
  • Wildflower Birthday DSP: 5" x 7", cut with second banner die
  • Basic White:  5" x 7", cut with second banner die
See how it opens like a regular card.  Nice!  Perfect layers for the front and inside.

Not the greatest lighting for this picture, but you can see that the card will stand up too.  Yay!

Stamps:  None!
Ink:  None!
Paper:  Pool Party, Basic White, Wildflower Birthday Designer Series Paper
Other:  Party Banner dies, Party Dots (Peach Pie - they look gold on the card), Greetings for All Ephemera Pack, Pool Party Stampin' Blends markers

Next week, I'll be creating some projects using the LEFTOVER bits and pieces from the Wildflower Birthday Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.  I'll make the actual scrapbook pages this weekend, according to the kit directions.  Then I'll take the left overs and design some projects to share with you.

I really love the scrapbooking workshop kits that we've had this past year.  Some have more leftovers than others, but they all have some.    Check out the Wildflower Birthday Scrapbooking Workshop Kit HERE.  It's got a lot of potential!

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
