Growing in Unity - Day 5

It's my last day as the GIU Gal for this week!  I am finishing off strong with a quick project that is one of my favorites - a small notebook/journal!

This little notebook or journal is perfect for keeping in your car, or your purse, or anywhere where you might need to jot a few things down.  Now, it's kind of small, but just the right size.  The pages are regular old copy paper that I took from the printer.  4 sheets, cut in half. 

The cover is made using two pieces of patterned paper from the Chicken Coop paper pack.  I used a 3-hole pamphlet stitch to hold it all together.  Finished size is 4 1/2" x 5 3/4".

Paper Measurements:

• Chicken Coop paper (2 pieces same print:  (1) 5 3/4" tall x 5 1/2" wide, score at 4 1/2" on the left side (this will be the front cover and spine; (1) 4 1/2" wide x 5 3/4" tall (this will be the back cover)
• Chicken Coop paper (1) different pattern - hand-cut chicken images.
• Basic White:  scrap to stamp/hand-cut sentiment
• Copy Paper: (4) pieces, cut in half at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", then fold each in half again.

This collage shows you the process of making it... cut/fold your inside pages, align in the "front cover"; stitch them together; add glue to the flap on the back; attach back cover.

I didn't add any gems to this, because I know from experience - trying to write on the pages with rhinestones or something underneath is not great.  Keep this kind of notebook flat.

Ink:  Early Espresso

Paper: Basic White, Chicken Coop patterned paper (Unity Stamp Co)

Other: Linen Thread
