We're already half-way through my Growing in Unity Week! Thank you for being here with me this week. I appreciate all of the comments, likes, loves, shares, fun gifs....all of it! Thank you!
Don't forget about PRIZES! One of the cool things about being the GIU Gal for the week, is that I get to give out TWO $20 vouchers for Unity product! LEAVE A COMMENT on this blog post (include your name if Blogger won't sign you in. I have that problem myself on some blogs.), my Instagram posts this week (Instagram), or any of the Facebook posts that I made. I'll be sharing to several Facebook Groups. I'll collect all the comments, and make a post next week HERE on my blog to announce the winners.
While I've been creating my projects this week, I've also tried to use some of the beautiful paper packs that I've gotten from Unity. They have so many gorgeous prints! For this Seraphim Wings card, I used sheets from TWO packs, and ripped the pieces. I like ripped edges, if you didn't know that about me.
I needed a large card because this butterfly is ginormous. It would have fit on an A2 card front, but that's all that would fit. You wouldn't be able to really see any pretty papers underneath, so I made the card bigger!
Geez...so I just checked and the Seraphim Wings Die that I used is out of stock. You can sign up on their site to be notified when it's back. I wouldn't have minded cutting this big butterfly, but out of watercolor paper??? That would have been a struggle.
Paper Measurements:
- Gorgeous Grape: 7" x 10", scored at 5"
- Basic White: 4 3/4" x 6 3/4', for inside of card
- Boho Bandana Bright: 6" x 6", cut down to 4 7/8" x 6", then ripped THREE strips out.
- Rainbow Alcohol Ink Papers: 6" x 6", cut down to 4 7/8" x 6", then ripped FOUR strips.
- Gorgeous Grape: scrap to emboss greeting
I actually started off this card with a piece of watercolor paper that I had previously done some "ink smashing" on to make an interesting background. I didn't want to color in the butterfly. I wanted to stamp it on something that already had color.
Supplies you'll need to create these (Stampin' Up, unless otherwise noted. Items may be retired.):
Stamps: Seraphim Wings & Die (Unity Stamp Co), And All the Things (Unity Stamp Co)
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Gorgeous Grape, Basic White, Boho Bandana Brights and Rainbow Alcohol Ink Papers (Unity Stamp Co)
Other: Antique Gold embossing powder (Simon Says Stamp), Purple Shimmer Gems, Gold Mesh ribbon
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!

Gorgeous design and colors! Love the beautiful butterfly!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card! And, yes, I agree that watercolor paper is often hard to get a good stamped image... even with a Misti.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card! The purple gives it a nice rich look. I haven't embossed Seraphim Wings yet. I think I'll try it.
