Friends of Unity January 2025 Blog Hop - Use Old Stuff from Your Stash!

Happy New Year Friends, and welcome to the Friends of Unity Monthly Blog Hop!  Our theme for January is "Use Old Stuff from Your Stash"  I went back to some old paper, and a kind-of-old stamp set...I don't remember when I bought it, but I'm guessing at least two years ago.  Ann Corbiere Scott designed some stamps for Unity Stamp Co, and I love her funky style.  In fact, this stamp is called Funky Flowers!

This stamp was designed for slimline cards.  My finished card size is 3 1/2" x 8 1/4".  You might be wondering - why not 8 1/2"???   Well, I cut a wee bit too much off one of the sides of the image piece and I didn't want to re-do it all.  We all have whoopsie moments.

I used my Old papers to do some Paper Piecing.  Stamp the same images on different pieces of designer paper, and hand-cut.  Run a black marker around all the edges of your cut flowers.  Then I colored in some little bits with some Stampin' Blends (alcohol) markers.

The greeting is popped up, and then I finished with some random orange-ish sequins from my stash.  The sequins are really OLD too!

Thanks for hopping with us!  If you comment as Anonymous, please leave your name so we know who leaves some love.

You probably got here from April's post, and the next stop is Jenni's project.  If you want to start at the beginning, go to Crystal's post!

Here's a list of everything I used:

Stamps: Funky Flowers (Unity Stamp Co)
Ink:  Midnight (Catherine Pooler), Calypso Coral
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Basic White, Playing with Patterns designer series paper
Other:  random sequins

I hope you enjoyed my project.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!

Toni

  4. Love the retro vibe of your slimline. Very pretty. I remember when everyone added sequins to their cards (not that long ago!) and now you don't see it much at all. I have a zillion of them! lol
