Another weekend has blasted by, and I did not complete my To Do list. :( I think I need 3-day weekends, in order to be more effective at life. hahaha! Let's talk about these cute little books that I made on Thursday night! I got the idea from Amber, over @LyricLoverCrafts on YouTube. She had a paper collection that had all sorts of tags, cut aparts, and ephemera with it. I re-created her idea using Stampin' Up supplies, which admittedly do not always have as many options. I'm sure you'll find plenty to work with, in your stash.
This No Sew Mini Book is made entirely from Designer Series paper. I think cardstock would be too thick for this little book. For the Snow Much Fun Mini Journal, I was working with the Snowy Scenes papers and Sticker Sheet. I also created some tags for the pockets.
Finished size of this Mini Junk Journal/Album is 4" x 6".
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. Facebook has been having a variety of issues lately, so YouTube might be the better option.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
I'm not going to show every page in the book, but here are a few pictures. Notice that I did round the outer corners of all the pages. If you don't round them, the corners will get dinged up from normal wear and tear.
DSP Paper Measurements: Pay attention to the direction of the patterns, and watch the video for more instruction on how to score and glue this book together.
- (2) pieces 6" x 9", scored at 4", 4 1/2", and 5"
- (1) piece 4" x 9", scored at 4", 4 1/2", and 5"
- (1) piece 8" x 8", scored at 4", turn once to the right, and then score at 2"
- (1) piece 2" x 6", to cover spine
I started with 3" x 6" pieces of DSP and coordinating cardstock for these tags. Glue the DSP and cardstock together. Then I decided to cut these down with some tag dies that I had....I really have no idea who the manufacturer is for these. Use any die you want, or just cut the top corners. Add some different ribbons.
I plan to add some butterflies to the cover and throughout. All I did so far was make the base book, and created three tags.
Use a paper clip to keep these little books closed if you're worried about that.
