I just realized how much BLUE I have going on with this month's Workshop! Oh my! This month is all about SNOW. Snowpeople, snowflakes, Let it Snow…anything snow! I was hoping to not end up with Holiday cards, but you can really change these greetings to anything you want.
My Workshop of the Month page gets updated every month with details - ordering code (ETZ3N9XV), and freebies. Spend $50 (before tax & shipping) using the order code and get a Make & Take kit for these cards. Spend $75 or more (before tax & shipping) using the order code and get the Make & Take kit plus a pack of Iridescent Foiled Gems!
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
For this first card, I started with a Forever Plaid embossed piece of Blueberry Bushel. I love a tone-on-tone embossed layer/card base. Stamp whatever you want in the snow globe, and pop that up. Change up the greeting too!
Paper Measurements:
- Blueberry Bushel: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored at 4 1/4”
- Basic White: 4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
- Blueberry Bushel: 4” x 5 1/4”, embossed with the Forever Plaid folder
- Basic White: scrap to die-cut snow globe
- Pecan Pie: scrap to die-cut snow globe base, and embossed with the Timber folder
I did ink-blend some Pool Party around the edges of the snow globe. Snow globe is popped up. I used Stampin’ Blends to color in, but you could obviously use anything. I think I ran the Clear Wink of Stella over the snowman too.
Stamps: Snowy Wonder Bundle
Ink: Onyx (Versafine), Blueberry Bushel
Paper: Blueberry Bushel, Pecan Pie, Basic White
Other: Forever Plaid & Timber embossing folders, Stampin’ Blends (various colors), Clear Wink of Stella, Iridescent Foiled Gems
The second card is actually using paper from the Full of Life Designer Series papers - the back sides all have some interesting watercolor prints with colors that are perfect. Emboss your snowflakes in White so they really stand out. I went with a Berry Burst card base. Again, you use whatever greeting you have.
Paper Measurements:
- Berry Burst: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored at 4 1/4”
- Basic White: (2) 4" x 5 1/4", one to layer, and one for the inside
- Full of Life Designer Series Paper: 3 13/16” x 5 1/16”
- Basic White: scrap to stamp and hand-cut greeting
When I embossed these snowflakes, I used White Craft ink and white embossing powder. I wanted that white to really stand out. If you don’t have White Craft ink, just use Versamark.
Finish off with the Iridescent Foiled Gems.
Stamps: Sparkling Snowflakes, Well Said
Ink: Berry Burst, White Craft
Paper: Berry Burst, Basic White, Full of Life Designer Series Paper
Other: Basics embossing powders (White), Iridescent Foiled Gems
My third card is a really fun Rocker Card! These are so fun to make! I used the Deckled Circles dies and some Country Woods Designer Series paper - something different, but still neutral. Stamp and die-cut the snowman, so you can pop him up. Stamp some background trees and lights on the piece of Basic White. Just a little bit of coloring.
Paper Measurements:
- Pool Party: full sheet to cut the two Deckled Circles pieces that you’ll need
- Country Woods Designer Series Paper:
- Basic White: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, die cut Deckled Circles pieces that
- Basic White: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”, notched corner to stamp and cut snowman and greeting from
Finish with some Iridescent Foiled gems.
Stamps: Snowy Wonder Bundle
Ink: Onyx (Versafine), Pool Party, Old Olive, Lost Lagoon
Paper: Pool Party, Basic White, Country Woods Designer Series Paper
Other: Deckled Circle dies, Stampin’ Blends, Iridescent Foiled Gems
I love how this last card turned out. I’ve got an Azure Afternoon card base that I stamped with the Sketched Plaid background stamp. Use whatever neutral background stamp you have, or stamp with smaller stamps all over.
Start with the largest snowflake in the middle of this Basic White strip, in the darkest shade of blue. Go lighter and smaller as you work your way out. Overlap the snowflakes just a teeny bit. Rip the edge (if you want), and ink blend the edge.
Paper Measurements:
- Azure Afternoon: 5 1/2" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/2”, to stamp your line of snowflakes, then also the greeting with the left over bit that you rip off.
Finished off with some Iridescent Foiled Gems.
Stamps: Sparkling Snowflakes, Well Said, Sketched Plaid background
Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon, Pool Party
Paper: Azure Afternoon, Basic White
Other: Iridescent Foiled Gems
I hope you enjoy these “Let it Snow” cards, and can copy with something you have in your stash.
Note that this month’s Workshop Ordering Code only goes through 12/30/2024. That’s not a typo. I will not be at home (hopefully) on New Year’s Eve. :)
