April 2024 Virtual Workshop: Retirement Party!

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend!  This post is for my Retirement Party Workshop, which just aired Thursday night.  This is the yearly workshop that I focus on products that are RETIRING.  The new catalog goes live May 1st, so the Retiring Lists are out.  Everything that is retiring (stamps, dies, punches, papers, inks, reinkers, markers, all the things) is while supplies last.

If you don't have the same products that I'm using, I hope you've got something similar in your stash that will do the trick.

Check out my Workshop of the Month page for details about my workshop, the ordering specials and the online ordering code.  Short version:  Use code PMEBDFWD when placing your qualifying order online this month and get some freebies!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I stream to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

My first card features the Inked & Tiled stamp set, and coordinating papers - Inked Botanicals.  I've also embossed the background with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.  I'm having a hard time believing that folder is retiring, but it happens!

I've got 3 panels of designer series paper here.  Stamp and hand-cut the flower, and add a greeting.  You could also replace this flower with a die-cut flower, all in a solid color cardstock.

Paper measurements:
  • Lost Lagoon:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”
  • Lost Lagoon:  4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Timeworn Type folder
  • Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper: (3) 2 1/2" x 1 1/2"
  • Basic White:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp and cut flower and greeting
Finish off with some Iridescent Pastel Gems

Stamps:  Inked & Tiled
Ink:  Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral
Paper: Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper
Other:  Timeworn Type embossing folder, Iridescent Pastel Gems

On the second card, I've featured the Masterfully Made designer series paper and a striking die-cut.  This particular print has some ripped paper flowers on the back - use that side if you want.  If you're using your own stash, choose something that this black die-cut will look nice against.  Otherwise, a very simple card.

Paper measurements:
  • Basic Black:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”
  • Basic White:  (2) 4” x 5 1/4”, for inside and front later
  • Masterfully Made Designer series paper:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Notice that I didn't poke all the bits out of the stems?  That was kind of a happy accident.

Stamp the greeting and pop it up.  Another shocking retirement item - the Double Oval punch!  I've used that one a LOT.

Stamps:  Artistically Inked
Ink:   Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Basic Black, Basic White, Masterfully Made Designer Series paper
Other:  Artistic dies, Double Oval punch, Iridescent Rhinestones

The third card is actually using some dies that are not from Stampin' Up.  I'm die-cutting a moose and a bear for all of the make-n-take kits.  You choose which one you'll use for this card.  The foil behind the trees is Rose Gold...forgot I even had it, and now it's retiring!

Paper measurements:
  • Early Espresso:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Copper Clay:  4 1/16" x 5 5/16", cut with Aspen Trees die
  • Rose Gold Foil:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Early Espresso:  scrap to die cut moose & bear
  • Very Vanilla:  1" x 4"
  • Very Vanilla:  4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card

Finish with some of the Rustic Metallic dots.

Stamps: Inked & Tiled
Ink:  Early Espresso
Paper:  Early Espresso, Copper Clay, Very Vanilla, Rose Gold Foil
Other:   Aspen Trees dies, Nature's Silhouttes #2 (Taylored Expressions), Banners Pick-a-Punch, Rustic Metallic dots

The last card is probably my favorite.  I got this design from Karen Titus, and I love it!  You'll cut your square of designer series paper into strips - whatever width you want.  I ended up with two the same width, but that was not on purpose.  :(

I'm including the punched out pieces for the ladybug in your kits as well.  You'll just need something to make the dots.  I used Sparkle Gems here, but you could stamp black ink with a pencil eraser, or any small circle - whatever you have to make dots.

I popped up the strips of designer series paper with foam, on top of the Crushed Curry.  Crushed Curry is glued down flat to the card front.

Paper measurements:
  • Garden Green:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
  • Crushed Curry:  3" x 4 1/4"
  • Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series paper:  3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square - cut into whatever size strips you want.
  • Basic White:  1" x 5"
  • Sweet Sorbet/Basic Black:  scraps to punch ladybug pieces
Since I used the black Sparkle Gems on the ladybug, I didn't add any other gems or doo-dads to this card.

Stamps:  Artistically Inked
Ink:   Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Sweet Sorbet, Basic Black, Basic White, Fresh as a Daisy Designer series paper
Other:  Ladybug punch, Sparkle Gems
