Hi Crafty Friends!
My Online Class this month is something a little different. I normally design 8 different cards for my classes, but I have received requests for stamp-a-stacks. The idea is you still make 8 cards, but there are 4 designs, and you make 2 of each. Hope you enjoy these cards! As always - I love for you to case my cards if you have all the materials at home. Otherwise, I also offer a class packet.
I made the Brights cards a few weeks ago and made this Class Pre-View video to show them. In tonight’s video, I made the Subtles cards. This lets you see both, so you can decide on your favorite.
I have a short turn around time for my online classes, so RSVP/$$ is due by Monday, July 17th if you are interested in this Adorable Owls Stamp-a-Stack card class. Details are all below the pictures. Pictures show cards done in Brights, and cards done in Subtles. You will pick EITHER Brights or Sutbles.
Email me at tonistamps@yahoo.com to sign up. Tell me if you need it shipped, and which COLOR family you want. Pick Brights or Subtles. Your card kits will match your choice. I also have two add-ons available. Let me know if you'd like either of those. (I just didn't have time to make a nice sign-up form this time.)

First off - let me be clear - you will be cutting your own Designer Series papers, EXCEPT for the Shaker card. Because of how I had to cut the circle out for the shaker, I need to cut and glue some of your papers together first. That is the only card.
I’m also showing you several different ways to color in your owls in this class.
First card is a Side Step Card that I used a Sizzix die to cut out. My mom gave me this die years ago, so I might as well use it more. The die is Sizzix brand and has “Lori Whitlock” on the side (I guess she's a designer or something), and item #559898. Owls are colored in with Stampin’ Blends,
Brights version is done in Poppy Parade. Subtles version is Bubble Bath.
Paper measurements:
- Poppy Parade/Bubble Bath: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, cut with Side Step Card die
- Poppy Parade/Bubble Bath: punched out 2 1/2” circle, Decorative circle, 6 hearts from Country Bouquet punch
- Basic White: 2” circle, embossed with Timeworn Type folder
- Poppy Parade/Bubble Bath DSP: 3 13/16" x 1" (hearts print), 3/4" x 5 1/8" (sideways lines print), and 2 3/4" x 2 7/8" (diagonal print)
Use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (NOT the blends) to ink up only part of the greetings and stamp inside the larger hearts.
Add White Glittered Organdy ribbon. Owls and hearts are all popped up. Finish off with several sequins.
Next card is a 4-Panel card. These panels are all 1 7/8” wide by 2 1/2” tall. I love this design, because you get to show off so many different colors and/or prints. If you want to use different patterns - you have that option, since you are cutting your own designer series papers. This time I colored the owl in with regular Stampin’ Write markers. No shading just straight coloring.
Brights version is done in Azure Afternoon & Pumpkin Pie. Subtles version is done in Calypso Corale & Balmy Blue.
- Azure Afternoon/Calypso Coral: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Pumpkin Pie/Balmy Blue: 4” x 5 1/4”
- Pumpkin Pie/Balmy Blue: 3 3/4” x 5”, to glue DSP rectangles on to
- Azure Afternoon/Pumpkin Pie/Calypso Coral/Balmy Blue - (4) pieces 1 7/8” x 2 1/2” for each card
- Azure Afternoon/Calypso Coral: 2” x 2” cut with Stylish Shapes die
- Basic White: 1 3/4” x 1 3/4”, embossed with Basics #2 folder (dots)
Pop up the owl in the center. Stamp and hand-cut the greetings from your 1/2 sheet of Basic White. Glue down flat.
Finish off with some sequins.
Third card is a Front Step Panel Pop-Up. I LOVE this style of card! They’re so fun to make! For these owls, I show you how to quickly watercolor using ink pads, clear blocks, and an aqua painter. The Shimmery White cardstock can handle all the water.
Brights card is done in Melon Mambo & Lemon Lime Twist. Subtles card is done in Fresh Freesia & Soft Seafoam.
Paper measurements:
- Melon Mambo/Fresh Freesia: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored on the long side at 5 1/2”, 6 3/4”, 8 3/4”, and 10”. (Watch video for assembly)
- Lemon Lime Twist/Soft Seafoam: 2 3/4” x 5 5/8”, scored on the short side at 3/8” and 1 5/8”
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for back of card to write on
- Melon Mambo/Fresh Freesia DSP: 4” x 5 1/4”, 1 3/4: x 4”
- Lemon Lime Twist/Soft Seafoam DSP: 2 1/2” x 3 3/4”
Wrap your White Glittered Organdy around the smaller front panel BEFORE you glue it to your card base. Otherwise, you’ll have to wrap it around that whole bit like I did on the Subtles version.
Greeting is stamped, hand-cut and glued down flat. Owls are popped up. Finish with sequins.
Last set of cards are Shaker Cards! This is the only card where I will cut your DSP for you. I HAVE to, so that I can cut these circles out for you. These Owls are colored either with the Stampin’ Pastels (Brights version). I just colored the pastel directly onto the paper. Smoothed out any harsh lines with a q-tip, I think. The Subtles version is colored using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender pen. I have more control using Watercolor Pencils over the chalks.
Brights version is done in Coastal Cabana & Daffodil Delight. Subtles version is done in Pool Party & Lemon Lolly.
- Coastal Cabana/Pool Party: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
- Coastal Cabana/Pool Party: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
- Coastal Cabana/Pool Party DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Daffodil Delight/Lemon Lolly DSP: (2) 1" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Daffodil Delight/Lemon Lolly: 3 1/4" X 3 1/4", to die cut second largest circle from Stylish Shapes dies
- Acetate: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- Basic White: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
I think that's everything. Definitely check out the video for assembly. Leave a comment or email me at tonistamps@yahoo.com if you have any questions!
