Happy Monday Crafty Friends!
I am so late getting this post finished from Thursday night. We had that weekend-long concert, which was a GREAT time, but I was so tired - I stayed home from work today. I'm still exhausted, and parts hurt that shouldn't be hurting. I don't know how many more multi-day events we have in our future. :)
Anyway, this past Thursday night (May 4), I presented my May Virtual Workshop featuring the new Beautiful Balloons suite of products. I feel like you can copy these projects using ANY balloon stamp that you already have in your stash. I really like the Bright & Beautiful designer paper pack that is in the Suite, AND we discovered LIVE together that the Gold Celebrations paper is really silver on the back side. That makes it that much more versatile! Happy discovery!
Let's get to it!
Check out my Workshop of the Month page for details about my workshop - ordering and freebie info.
Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
First project is a fun card where I used all 3 size balloons to make my own background paper. I did stamp the largest balloon FIRST, then the medium size, then the smallest. Fill in with the little confetti stamp.
Stamp a couple of more balloons and the greeting and cut them out. Pop up with Stampin' Dimensionals
Paper measurements:
- Parakeet Party: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Tahitian Tide: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Basic White: 3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
- Basic White: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with notched corner, to stamp and cut/punch balloons/greeting
I finished off with some of the Blue Pastel Sequins.

Ink: Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet
Paper: Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Basic White
Other: Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet Metallic trim, Pastel Sequins
Second project is a Shaker Card...so that's cool. You'll need gold (or silver) embossing powder for this, and some shaker bits. You'll take the three-balloon cut out and cut that single, largest balloon off of it. Emboss the edge of that with your metallic embossing powder. I say gold OR silver, because it turns out that this Gold Celebrations Specialty acetate is gold on one side, and silver on the other. There is no mention of this in the catalog, so this was a surprise.
Paper measurements:
- Basic Black: 5 1/2" x 6 3/8", scored at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", for inside of card
- Basic Black: 4" x 5 1/4", embossed with Cascading Ruffles folder AND then die-cut with the trio of balloons.
- Gold Celebrations Specialty paper (remember it's silver on the back): 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- Basic Black: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", notched corner to stamp/cut greeting AND cover the back of your shaker.
Use Foam Adhesive Strips or Foam tape from the Dollar Tree to make your shaker. Fill with your shaker bits - I found some old multi-metallic sequins to use. Check your stash!
Emboss the edge of your balloon, and stamp/emboss your greeting of choice. Hand cut it, or use whatever die you have that will cut out the greeting. Finish with some gold sequins.

I popped the Lemon Lolly star up in the middle of that circle.

The fourth project is to show you the Masking Technique. I use post-it notes to make my masks, as you'll see in the video. Stamp the largest balloon first, then stamp it again on a post-it note (make sure you stamp along the edge that has sticky stuff on the back) and trim it out. Now you place your mask over the large balloon, and stamp the smaller balloons over top.
Stamp your greeting in the bottom right corner of this panel, then pop this whole panel up onto the card base.
Paper measurements:
- Basic White Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Basic White Thick: 4" x 5 1/4", cut with Stitched with Whimsy dies

I went with a unicorn color pallette here - Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly, and Bubble Bath. Finish with some of the pink sequins.

The final project is a no-layer Notecard with envelope. Again, we're using the Masking Technique. This time with the medium size balloons and some brighter colors - Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, and Lemon Lime Twist.
Paper measurements:
- Basic White Notecard/Envelope: 3 1/2" x 5" finished
I stamped the greeting from Circle Sayings in Berry Burst. No bling or Wink of Stella on this card...GASP!
