Happy Saturday Friends!
In this week's video, I shared the NEW 2022-2024 In Colors from Stampin' Up! along with some stamps from the 2022 January - June Catalog that have not gotten enough love from me thus far. In the first part of the video, I show you how to mount the stickers on your ink pads and then I go through just a few color comparisons. Not a ton, but a few.
Just a reminder that I am Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET. I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.
If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube. If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
So let's talk about the NEW In Colors! I shared this image a couple of weeks ago, when they were announced. I still maintain that Parakeet Party will be my favorite, but I am also really loving Tahitian Tide (it's lighter than Tempting Turquoise, if you remember that one).
For the first card, I wanted to use ALL of the new In Colors. Tulip Fields was the perfect set to pull out. I was able to stamp rows and rows of flowers, and use all of the colors!
I started with a Starry Sky card base, and Orchid Oasis layer. Then stamped my flowers/tree/clouds on Basic White, and layered that on to a piece of Sweet Sorbet.
Paper Measurements:
- Starry Sky: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- Orchid Oasis: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for inside of the card)
- Sweet Sorbet: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
- Basic White: 3" x 4 1/4"
- Basic White: scrap to stamp greeting
Stamps: Tulip Fields, Flowing Flowers
Ink: Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Starry Sky, Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide
Paper: Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Sweet Sorbet, Basic White
Other: Basic Rhinestones
Next up is an all white card. Thick White card base, with white layers. I like to make white-on-white or vanilla-on-vanilla cards, because it puts the focus on either the colors or the images. In this case, I wanted the colors to stand out.
Stamp on the smallest layer of Basic White, layer it on a slightly bigger piece. Then pop that whole bit up on the card base.
Remember to stamp your images off the edge. I wanted to make this kind of a flowering frame, so I left the middle-ish area open to stamp my greeting.
Paper measurements:
- Basic White Thick: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
- Basic White: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
- Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
I finished this one off with some Opal Rounds.
Stamps: Flowing Flowers
Ink: Orchid Oasis, Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party
Paper: Basic White (Thick and regular)
Other: Opal Rounds
For the last card, I wanted to pair Tahitian Tide with the out-going In Color, Cinnamon Cider. I love it!! I will really miss Cinnamon Cider! It's a great shade of coppery brown that we don't have in our regular line-up of colors. I also had to bring back Cactus Cuties for some more non-traditional colors. :)
This is a Mini Slimline card. I make my mini slims 3" x 6".
- Cinnamon Cider: 6" x 6", scored and folded at 3"
- Tahitian Tide: 2 3/4" x 5 3/4"
- Basic White: 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" (for inside of the card)
- Cinnamon Cider: 2" x 5", embossed with the Macrame folder
- Basic White: scraps to stamp and cut cactus plants and flower pots
- Tahitian Tide: scrap to stamp greeting
Emboss the 2" x 5" piece of Cinnamon Cider with the macrame folder (also retiring!), and glue that down flat.
Cactus plants and planters are all stamped, hand-cut, and popped up. I did run the Clear Wink of Stella all over the cactus plants.
Greeting is embossed in white, and popped up too.
This time, I finished the card with the retiring In Color Square Faceted Gems. I've hardly used these, and they are pretty neat!
Stamps: Cactus Cuties bundle
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Tahitian Tide, Cinnamon Cider, Basic White
Other: Macrame embossing folder, Basic embossing powders (white), 2020-2022 In Color Square Faceted Gems, Clear Wink of Stella
I hope you enjoyed the new In Colors and projects this week. If the colors aren't your thing - substitute with your favorites!
Next week, I'll either be using the Ranunculous Romance or Artfully Layered bundles. I asked for people to vote in the comments of the video - so tell me what you'd like to see! Comment on this post if you want.
Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
