Artfully Layered Projects - A Gift Set!

Hello Crafty Friends!

In this week's video, I made a gift giving set using the Artfully Layered bundle.  The Artfully Layered products (stamps, dies, papers) are NOT carrying over to the next Annual catalog - so get them by June 30, 2022 if you really want them.  I'm disappointed that they won't be available...but that's how it goes sometimes.

Just a reminder that I am Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

I mentioned that the papers that go with this bundle will not be carrying over either - no problem for me.  Turns out, I never ordered them!  I spent two days this week looking for a pack of paper that I never ordered.  DUH!  :(  So I had to make do for my projects, and I love how they turned out!  I used the soon-to-be retired Pattern Party DSP.  It's a Hostess Only item in the current Annual catalog.

For the first project in this gift set, I made this card (idea from Meg Loven) AND matching envelope - you can get both from ONE sheet of 12" x 12" DSP.  Amazing!  Of course, I didn't realize that until after I made my first card.  Live and learn...

The card base here is just a 1/4 sheet of cardstock.  Flirty Flamingo in this case.  Then the "card" part is a 4" x 12" strip of DSP, scored on both ends to make a tri-fold.  Decorate the inside and make a layer for the front!

Notice my cards are different.  I wanted to see how it would look with the Rose Gold foil, and I like that better. I think it coordinates with the Flirty Flamingo a little more.  Although gold is kind of a neutral - it goes with anything.

Paper Measurements:
  • Flirty Flamingo:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Pattern Party DSP:  4" x 12", scored at 3 1/2", and 8 3/4"
  • Basic White:  3 3/4" x 5" (for inside of the card)
  • Coastal Cabana:  3" x 4 1/8", cut with the largest scalloped rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly dies
  • Basic Whie:  2 1/2" x 3 5/8"
  • Rose Gold Metallic:  6" x 6" piece to die cut various leaves for all of the projects
Score and fold your DSP, and then glue it to the Flirty Flamingo base.  Then it's a matter of stamping the white pieces, building your top layer, and adding some of the Faux Sea Glass shapes.

To make the envelope - I stamped on the white/black dots side, using the exact same stamps and colors that I used on the card (HINT:  I used the same stamps and colors on EVERYTHING tonight.)  Use an Envelope Punch Board to make your own envelope.

(SAME FOR ALL PROJECTS)
Stamps:  Artfully Layered Bundle
Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Pattern Party Designer series paper, Gold/Rose Gold Metallic
Other:  White Frayed ribbon, Faux Sea Glass bits

Next up is the gift bag! Yes, a gift bag from two pieces of 12" x 12" designer series paper.  This is sturdy enough for a small/lightweight gift.  Don't try to put a candle or a jar of marbles in here!

You should stamp your DSP BEFORE you score...I forgot to do that part.  Not the end of the world, but it would look even better if you do the stamping first.

Paper measurements:
  • Pattern Party Designer series paper:  12" x 12" (2 pieces of the same print)
You want to score the left, bottom, and right sides of each piece at 3", and then score the top at 1 1/2".

(Watch the video for bag assembly!)

I used Art Glitter glue to assemble my bag, and it is VERY STURDY.  Previously, I have used Sticky Strip or Tear and Tape to assemble these gift bags.  Those still work, but I'm loving this glue, so I've switched.

You'll want to add some eyelets, so that you can thread your ribbon handles through.   I had some Pewter Jumbo eyelets left over from many years ago.  I'm hoarding these.  :)

For the last part of my set, I made a tag.  Again, I used the same colors and stamps throughout.

Paper measurements:
  • Coastal Cabana:  3 1/4" x 5"
  • Flirty Flamingo:  3" x 5", cut each side with the rick-rack die from the bundle
  • Granny Apple Green:  scrap to die cut Tasteful Labels die, then emboss with Tasteful Textile folder
  • Coastal Cabana:  3" x 3"ish piece, with foam adhesive underneath
  • Basic White, Rose Gold scraps:  stamp/die cut leaves
Cut the Coastal Cabana/foam piece with the words "here for you" from the All Together dies.  Then just cut off "here", so you're left with "for you".

Stamp some cluster of leaves in Flirty Flamingo ink.

Finishing it is just a matter of layering the different pieces, then add some Faux Sea Glass bits.

I hope you enjoyed this gift set and are inspired to make your own set for someone special!

Next week, I'll be making a few projects using up some 6" x 6" pieces of designer series paper.  I know we all have so much of it - we need to use it up!!!  And then get some more.  :)

Thanks for visiting, and Happy stamping!
