Gift Boxes are something that I make year round, but I think we could all benefit from a few more ideas for packing right now. This past Thursday, I started off with a Paper Pumpkin Alternative project for the Jolly Gingerbread kit, and then I demonstrated two more boxes, using designer series paper and cardstock.
Just a reminder that I go Live on my Facebook Page every Thursday at 11:00am ET.
If
you did not catch me live, you can still watch it on my Demonstrator Page later, OR on YouTube. If the picture does not appear
below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.
For those of you not into videos, I'll give a brief description of what I did for each project. All of the paper cutting and scoring measurements are provided in the description of the YouTube video.
I started off with an alternative project for the Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit came with pieces to make (15) gift card holders....I certainly don't need that many gift card holders, so my original intention was to turn the little Gingerbread house panels into cards. By the time I got around to opening this kit, I already have enough cards for this holiday season - so I thought I would turn them into TREAT BOXES.
I used (2) of the "gift card holders" to make this treat box.
The idea was to make a teeny tiny box out of Cinnamon Cider card stock, and then secure the Gingerbread house panels around the box.
This is how it looks from the bottom - you could certainly use white card stock too. It holds a couple of the Little Debbie Gingerbread cookies, and some tea bags. I'm sure I could load it up with some candy too! Does chocolate go with gingerbread??? :)
Next up, I made a small gift bag using (2) pieces of 6" x 6" designer series paper. Then a box top made out of coordinating card stock. I screwed up scoring the box in the video, and the lid did not fit right. Go by my measurements in the video/youtube description.
Classic Christmas designer series papers (DSP) in the Shaded Spruce prints, with Shaded Spruce card stock for the box top. Tie some Gold Glimmer ribbon around.
The third box that I made was from 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of cardstock, with some designer series paper on top to make it pretty. I like this style of box where the box bottom is a different color, and it peeks out. These boxes are 4 1/2" x 7" x 2" tall.
Catch me next Thursday, when I'll be showing some different gift card ideas. I know a bunch of us will be down to the wire, trying to wrap various things. I like to make some kind of pretty or cool presentation for gift cards - just to jazz it up a little bit.
