Mirror Mermaids - use Stamparatus and Silicone Craft sheet

Making mirror images could not be easier using the Stamparatus and a silicone craft sheet!  I found a great step-by-step picture tutorial here, that I think you should take a look at.  You can google for some videos - there are a bunch...just find the one that you like best. 

I made a bunch of different mirror images this week, and then I finally colored in this Mermaid card last night.  Remember - you're using Memento ink (or some other water-based ink) for the mirror technique.  That means when you color it in, you need to use alcohol markers. 

Easy way to remember ink and marker combinations is that they are opposite -

• Water-based ink (Memento), use Alcohol markers (Stampin' Up Blends, Copics, etc.)
• Alcohol-based ink (Staz-On, anything permanent), use Water-based markers (Stampin' markers, Tombows, Aqua painters with ink, etc.)

I wanted purples and blues for my mermaids, and I also made them as fraternal twins.  :)  One blond, and one brown-haired.

I used a lot of different Stampin' Blends markers to color them in, and then I gave them a final coating of Wink of Stella in clear (TWICE), so they'd have a shimmer.  I finished the card with a few rhinestones.

Give the Mirror technique a try!  It is so cool!  You don't have to make a card with your mirror images centered like this.  You can always cut the images out, and pop them up on your card.  Then you could put them at a jaunty angle...fun!

Stamps:  Magical Mermaid

Ink: Gorgeous Grape (stamped off), Bermuda Bay, Soft Sea Foam
Paper:  Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White Thick

Other:  Stamparatus (MISTI works too!), Blends markers (Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana, Soft Sea Foam, Bronze, Ivory,  Daffodil Delight), Rhinestones, Wink of Stella Clear pen, Stampin' Dimensionals
