Double CD Holder - try it out!

Building on my first attempt at making this style of CD holder yesterday, I decided to make a Double Wide CD Holder.  It's so easy!

Just make two cd holders, with the pockets on opposite sides.  Sticky strip them together, one on top of the other, to make the "middle".  Then each pocket folds in!  Measurements are the same from yesterday, I just made two folders.

Stamps:  Word Play

Cardstock:  Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Whisper White, Tropical papers (last summer...retired)

Ink:  Tempting Turquoise

Other:  Big Shot, Lattice Square die, Basic Pearl accents, Old Olive 3/8" Taffeta ribbon (retired), Sticky Strip

Here are some more pictures, to give you a better idea of how I put them together.  Start with two...

Cut the corners off, and tape them down to make the pockets.
Tape those two together to create that "middle" solid panel.  Then you get this - decorate to your heart's content!  TOTALLY EASY!

Snow Much Fun CD Holder

My friend asked me today if I had any ideas for a cd holder - to give as a gift, to put a CD of pictures inside it.  Well, I had an idea immediately but changed it up a little by the time I got home.

The finished size is 5 3/4" square.  The flap on the inside was 5 3/4" x 5".  After I attached it, I whacked off the corner, enough so you could see the CD poking out.  The CD really sits further down into the pocket.  I just had it poked up a little so you could really see.

To make this - cut a piece of cardstock 5 3/4" x 12".  Score at 5 3/4" and 11 1/2".  Cut another piece (I used the same color here), 5 3/4" x 5".  Attach that second piece to the 1/2" flap that's hanging at the end.  USE STICKY STRIP.  Fold it over, cut it off at a diagonal and attach the bottom of the flap down with Sticky Strip.  Voila!  You have a pocket that fits a CD!

Stamps:  Snow Much Fun, Warmest of Wishes

Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Ski Slope dsps (retired)

Ink:  Baja Breeze, Black

Other:  Baja Breeze/Bashful Blue/Pumpkin Pie/Basic Grey markers, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Baja Breeze striped grosgrain (retired), Sticky Strip

Happy Birthday Kristal!

Whew!  I had a LOT of birthdays this weekend.  Today is actually my BFF's 30th birthday!  Happy birthday to you....happy birthday to you....all that good stuff.  Love you KB!  Unlike my usual style of cards, which are not that involved, I actually spent over an hour making this card.  I really did feel like it was a masterpiece after that.  Then when it was all finished, I realized it was so bulky it wouldn't fit in an envelope, so I had to make a box to put it in.

It's a full-size easel card, with half-pearls on the base to stand it up.

Stamps:  uh....no stamping?  Really?  Hhhmmm.

Cardstock:  Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Paisley Petals dsp

Other:  Big Shot, Finial Press embossing folder, Simple Numbers dies, half-back pearls (from retired Pretties Kit), 5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon (to make the ruffle), Sticky Strip, Mini Glue Dots, Oval cutting system
Here's a picture of it standing up, followed by the box that I made to put the card in.  It's just a pizza box with Whisper White satin ribbon tied around.  She can re-use the box later as a gift box.

Happy Birthday Rene!

Happy Birthday Rene!  Rene loves her Harley, so I used up some of my Harley Davidson pink papers for her card and envelope.  I actually messed up the first envelope, so I had to use 2 sheets of 12x12 to get just one envelope and a card done.  I hated to waste it, but I'll salvage what I can for something else.  I can't find any Harley Davidson papers anymore.  :(  The card is 4 1/4" square.

Stamps:  Afterthoughts

Cardstock:  Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pink Harley Davidson printed paper

Ink:  Regal Rose

Other:  1 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, Rhinestone Basic jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, corner rounder

Happy Birthday Jamie!

Happy Birthday Jamie!  This was my first attempt at making the envelope.  The envelope itself ended up being 4" x 4", which means guess what....?  It means that you cannot fit a 4x4 card in it!  So this card is a wonky size, maybe 3 7/8" square.  It was still a tight fit.

Stamps:  Easy Events

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Paisley Prints dsps, Whisper White

Ink:  Black

Other:  Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake markers, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Big Shot, Finial Press embossing folder, Simple Numbers dies, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, corner rounder

Card Box sneak peek

Sneak peek of the box that we'll be making at my Easy Events class on Wednesday.  I was going for something generic enough for everyone, but still pretty, and that they could possibly use later to put a gift in, or they can use it to give the whole card set to someone.  It's bigger than the cards and envelopes...plenty of room.

No stamping!  Sponged Sahara ink on the designer series papers after I embossed it.

Cardstock:  Sahara Sand, Basic Black, 1st Edition designer series papers

Ink:  Sahara Sand

Other:  Big Shot, Finial Press embossing folder, Black Satin ribbon, 1" hole punch (to punch on the sides of the top to make it easier to open), Sticky Strip

Happy Birthday Trent!

Happy Birthday Trent!  I made this birthday cake card, and gift box to hold a gift card for him.  Also used some gorgeous orange twill ribbon that some of my girls got me from a ribbon outlet here in Maryland.  Thanks girls!!!  It's perfect!

The box is a pizza box.  Check out the tutorial here to see how to make one....then just change up the measurements.  For this one, I cut a piece of cardstock 6 1/2" x 9".  Score the short sides (portrait) in 1" from each side.  Then score the long side (landscape) at 1", 4", 5", 8".  It's perfect for a gift card, plus room if you wanted to actually wrap it in tissue paper.  I didn't bother.  He's 11...he doesn't care about tissue paper!

Stamps:  Up, Up & Away; Curly Cute

Cardstock:  Blue Bayou (retired), Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, some retired dsp that I can't remember the name of.

Ink:  Pumpkin Pie

Other:  Orange twill ribbon, 1 1/4"/ 1 3/8"/ Scallop circle punches, Stampin' Dimensionals, 3/4" punch for notch on the top part (so it's easier to open), Corner rounder, Basic Rhinestones.

Here's a picture of the side of the box - you can see the notch.

Flower Medallions

Some of my creative and crafty girls got some new toys and made these absolutely beautiful flower cards!  They got a die that makes a scalloped edge, scored strip.  You then fold it back and forth and attach to itself to make the flower.  Put a brad, button, or circle of cardstock in the center, and you're done!

Didn't they do a fantastic job?!  YES!!!  I love the flower pot, and the fronds/leaves coming out of it.

Thanks for sharing girls!

Mermaids really sparkle!

My friend, Lori, wanted to make a really special card for Christine - something to hold her present.  So we came up with this idea using a cute mermaid stamp that she has.  It's adorable and SO sparkly!

Those are NOT rhinestone brads for her boobs!  Bless her heart...Christine thought they were really big brads at first.  It took her a minute to realize that they're real diamond earrings!  She was so surprised, and amazed at the card that Lori made to hold them.  The whole turned out totally adorable beyond belief.

I don't know what company makes the mermaid stamps.  :(

Cardstock:  Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, scrap of pink

Ink:  Sahara Sand, Tempting Turqouise

Other:  various markers, small/large/scallop Oval punches, Stampin' Dimensionals

Here's a picture of the box that we made for her card.  The card was 5" x 5", so it was kind of a tight squeeze...but it fit perfectly!

Penannt Parade for Christine's birthday card

Happy birthday Christine! I messed up the watermark on this picture...you can still get the idea.
