Olivia's Name Frame and custom box

I made this "name frame" for my friend at work.  I had to take the glass out, because the pearls don't fit...and I didn't want the butterflies to get smashed flat anyway.  FINALLY used my SU alphabet dies that I just HAD to have last summer...geez!  Also busted out the Pretties Kit, which I've thus far been stingy on using.

I used the Faux Diamond Dust technique on some Kiwi Kiss cardstock, and then cut out my letters.  I also cut out a set of in Rose Red (non-fauxed) to layer behind.

Faux Diamond Dust is really easy - just smash Versamark ink all over your scrap/piece of cardstock, cover with Iridescent Ice embossing powder, emboss it, then do what you want with that paper!  You know that special paper at the scrapbook stores called "Diamond Dust"?  It looks just like that, only with this you can have it in any color that you own.  Awesome!

I also started out with a silver frame (it's all I could find at Walmart today).  I didn't want silver, so I shabbed it up with some White Staz-on ink and a sponge.

After I was done with the frame, I made a custom box to put it in....the bottom is Cameo Coral, but I won't bore you with a picture of that.

I tied the ribbon around the box in a knot.  With the magic of the Mini Glue Dot, I glued one tail up on itself so it sits up next to the other one, to make butterfly antennae.  Then just mini glue dotted my butterfly onto the ribbon knot.  There will be no un-tieing of this box, but the ribbon will slide off.

Stamps: ...oh!  NONE!  Oops!

Cardstock:  Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart designer papers (retired)

Ink:  White Staz-On, Versamark

Other:  SU Alphabet Simple letters dies, SU Beautiful Butterflies die, Cuttlebug folders (3 different ones), Pretties Kit, Big Shot, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, heat tool, Pretties Kit, Mini Glue Dots ( a lot of them), Rose Red grosgrain ribbon

Here's a close-up picture of the box top art.

I LOVE embossing those butterflies!!! It really adds great texture and interest.
