Bloggers Challenge

Today’s card is one I made for a group Blog Challenge – the idea was to copy a cards layout – you could change the stamps, ink, and card stock – but you should keep the actual layout in place. The original card can be found on page 10 of the Fall/Winter Preview Catalog – it is shown using the Year after Year stamp set.

The card above is what I created using that card layout. I also used a color combination from the Stampin' Up Color Wheel - More Mustard, Old Olive, and Bravo Burgundy.

Be sure to check out other Bloggers Challenge Cards using the links under "Blogger Challenge Players"!

Stamps: Summer by the Sea, Much Appreciated
Cardstock: More Mustard, Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy

Au Chocolat designer papers Colored!

Made this Get Well Soon card for a friend using the Au Chocolate Designer Series papers (found in the current SU mini catalog - look at it on http://www.stampinup.com/ until June 29th!). The papers are all Chocolate Chip and Vanilla. I colored it by rubbing my ink pad right onto the papers directly. Voila! Colored designer papers! I think it's beautiful, and really makes these Au Chocolat papers very versatile.

Stamps: All Through the Year, Sincere Salutations

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow

Accessories: Au Chocolate designer papers, Vintage brads

A Place for Take Out Menus!

Have extra file folders and Designer Series paper laying around? Put them together to make a nice looking storage area. I was cleaning out my junk drawer and thought..."I really don't like all these menus all over the place, but a plain file is just too BORING!" So I whipped out my papers from the Spring Mini and used 2 pieces to cover the front & back, and inside edges of this file folder. Just used Mono-Adhesive, nothing fancy. The inside pockets are just two pieces of cardstock, tape on three edges - leave the top open so you can actually put stuff in them. I did use Sticky Strip for that, because it might get rough handled a bit more.

Stamps: Big Deal Alphabet

Cardstock: Sage Shadow, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Petals Designer Series papers ( '07Spring Mini)

ink: Sage Shadow

Accessories: regular scissors (to trim around the tabs)

That's it!!! Give it a try! You could really fancy up your desk or home office with some great looking folders.

Lovely as a Tree w/ Pastels

I thought my pastels (chalks) were getting lonely, so I dragged them out for this card. It's really a very easy way to color without having to worry about staying in the lines...right up my alley. Even as a child, staying in the lines was a struggle for me.

stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Sincere Salutations, Flannel Plaid Background

cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Whisper Whie

ink: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel

other: Caramel eyelets, bone folder (to rough up the edges of the white), Stampin' Pastels

Sunflower Envelope Saga...

Well wouldn't you know that I didn't have any large square envelopes, so I had to make one! I scored a 12" x 12" piece of Vanilla cardstock in at 2 3/4" on each side. Cut the corners off and stamp it.

Then I made a flap to cover the gap where the cardstock doesn't quite meet. Flap is 6 1/2"ish x 2 1/2". Stick that to the top flap only. Close shut with ribbon!
