Merry Bold & Bright Paper - Two-Way Projects

Good afternoon Crafty Friends!

I am enjoying this Sunday, cropping with some friends.  I hope you had the chance to do something fun this weekend as well!  I’m finally getting this blog updated with my projects from Thursday night.  My focus was on the Merry Bold & Bright papers - showing that they are not just for Christmas.  I made a card live, and then showed another one made with the same design and papers (flipped over) with a different look.  Enjoy!

Just a reminder that I am generally Live on-line every Thursday at 8:00pm ET.  I am streaming to BOTH YouTube and Facebook simultaneously.

If you are not able to catch me live, you can watch over on YouTube.  If the picture does not appear below, you can click HERE to get to it on YouTube.

First is a simple layered card.  I demonstrated the Christmas card live.  Same design for both - layer of designer series paper along with a layered bit to stamp on.  I popped up a Christmas tree on one, and ladybugs on the other.   This is the same piece of Merry Bold & Bright designer series paper, just flipped over.

Paper measurements:
  • Shaded Spruce:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
  • Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper:  4" x 5 1/4"
  • Poppy Parade/Granny Apple Green:  2 3/4” x 4”
  • Basic White:  2 1/2” x 3 3/4”
  • Basic White/Real Red/Basic Black:  scraps to stamp/cut/punch tree and ladybugs

I finished off with some Basic Rhinestones.

Stamps:  Merriest Trees bundle, Sending Cheer, Throughout the Year
Ink:  Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Midnight (Catherine Pooler)
Paper:  Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Real Red, Basic Black, Merry Bold & Bright designer series paper
Other:  Ladybug punch

My second project is a fun gatefold card.  I made the Birthday card during my Live, and show how/where I put little magnets to keep it closed.  I used two different pieces of the dsp on these cards, just flipped over.  Presents stamped and die-cut from the Sending Cheer bundle work for both birthday and Christmas…it’s all about the colors, right?

I love these greeting sets too - Biggest Wish is from the Annual Catalog, and More Wishes is from the holiday catalog.  Mix and match since the fonts are the same!  I stamped the words in the corners, using Shaded Spruce ink.

Paper measurements:
  • Poppy Parade:  5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored at 2 1/8” (from one end, and then fold the other side in to meet in the middle OR you can score at 2 1/8” from each end)
  • Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4", for inside of card
  • Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper:  (2) 2” x 5 3/8”
  • Blueberry Bushel/Poppy Parade:  3 1/2” x 3 1/2”
  • Basic White:  3 1/4” x 3 1/4”
  • Basic White:  scraps to stamp/die cut presents

Finished off with some Iridescent Discs.

Stamps: Sending Cheer bundle, Biggest Wishes, More Wishes
Ink:  Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Crushed Curry, BlueberryBushel
Paper:  Poppy Parade, Blueberry Bushel, Basic White, Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series paper
Other:  Iridescent Discs

The last project is a fun shaker card!  I demonstrated the Christmas Tree shaker card live, and showed the Balloon shaker.  This is the same piece of designer series paper, flipped over.  For these shakers - I attached the DSP to the cardstock layer first, then die-cut the shape out so it cuts both.  I’ll use the tree and balloon that I cut out on other cards.  Use whatever sequins or shaker bits that you have to fill your shakers.

Paper measurements:
  • Shaded Spruce/Blueberry Bushel:  5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4”
  • Basic White:  4” x 5 1/4”, for inside of card
  • Lemon Lime Twist: 3 3/16” x 4 3/16”
  • Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper:  3” x 4”
  • Basic White:  3 3/16” x 4 3/16”
  • Basic White:  scraps to stamp/cut balloons and greetings
I didn’t add any extra rhinestones or bling - there’s already so much INSIDE the shakers…but you could add more if you wanted to.

Stamps:  Merriest Trees bundle, Beautiful Balloons bundle, Ringed with Nature
Ink:   Lemon Lime Twist, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel
Paper:  Shaded Spruce, Lemon Lime Twist, Blueberry Bushel, Basic White, Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series paper, Acetate
Other:  Random sequins/shaker bits, Silver metallic cord, lots of foam tape

I hope you see how versatile these Merry Bold & Bright papers really are!
