Build a Birthday - Double Z fold

I've wanted to try this Double Z fold for a while, and finally did...what was I waiting for?  It's so easy!  Here's a better picture of it open - you can really see the whole "Z fold" part.

Notice that the base card is your standard Z-fold.  The DOUBLE Z fold comes with that strip at the bottom.  It's the same z-fold scoring, but the strip is flipped around so the fold goes opposite of the base card.

You can find PLENTY of videos on how to make this Double Z fold card, and there are actually several different ways to make them.  I chose this one, because I liked it the best.

The only PITA part of this card was stamping all of those candles, and cutting them out by hand.  But it's so pretty, the effort is worth it.

This is my quick guide for measurements and scoring:

Z-fold Card base:  4 1/4" x 11".  Score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2"

Z-fold Strip:  1 1/2" x 11".  Score at 2 3/4", 5 1/2".

Inside layer:  4" x 5 1/4"

Front panel:  Cardstock  4" x 2 1/2".  DSP 3 7/8" x 2 3/8".

Stampin' Up supplies that you'll need to create this:

Stamps:  Build a Birthday (that's IT!  The candles AND greeting are all in the same set!)
Ink:  Mint Macaron, Soft Sky, Calypso Coral, So Saffron
Paper:  Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla, By the Shore designer series paper
Other:  Clear Wink of Stella pen (I hit all of the candle flames with the Wink of Stella)

Give it a try and see what you can come up with!  This style of card is great - easy enough, but looks like you spent hours making it.  :)

Happy Stamping,
