Frankie goes to Gambrills

Used some of last year's Halloween designer papers to make this card that I needed to mail a check to a friend.  It's sized to fit in one of those old-style envelopes that holds checks.  It was like 6 1/4" x 3 3/8".  Check fit perfectly inside without having to fold it up.

I did not have black buttons, but I had some Vanilla or yellow ones from last year.  I also had a Black Sharpie - colored that button black!

Stamps:  Batty for You

Cardstock:  Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Wicked Fun designer series papers

Ink:  Old Olive

Other:  2 3/8" Scallop punch, Circle punches (1 1/4", 1 1/2" non-SU, 1 3/4"), Scallop border punch, Old Olive 3/8" Taffeta ribbon (retired), button, Black Sharpie to color button, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, Black hemp (retired - tied it through the button, just in a knot)

Stocking pockets

How cute are these stockings???  I made them as pockets (two stockings back to back, sticky strip'd together except for the top), so you can put something small in them.  It's a tight fit, but you can get a stick of candy, and probably a gift card down in them.  Of course, you can also add a hand-stamped note in there too!  :)

Note:  When you are cutting the stockings out, make sure your designer papers are facing back-to-back, so that you get the SAME pattern on both sides of your stocking.

These are really easy to put together.  Give it a try!

Stamps:  NONE!

Cardstock:  Frostwood Lodge designer series papers, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green

Thanksgiving Woven Basket

Weave a basket out of cardstock?  Seriously?  YES!  Start off with the Fancy Favor box, cut strips down to the bottom score mark, cut your strips of cardstock to weave...and get to it!

I did direct-to-paper the base Fancy Favor Box first thing, so that it would really make that textured cardstock stand out against the other strips that I wove.

Stamps:  Gift Givers (Holiday Mini catalog)

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake (textured and smooth), Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Black

Other:  Crumb Cake/Soft Suede/Daffodil Delight/Real Red/Old Olive/Pumpkin Pie markers, Curly Label Punch, Big Shot, Fancy Favor box die, Movers and Shapers Curly Label die, Gold brads, 1/8" hole punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip (a lot of it...), bone folder...I think that's it.

Fall Wrapped Box #2

Got this idea at convention this year.  A Box #2, wrapped with cardstock and ribbon!  Unfortunately, I realized too late that the wide striped ribbon that I have is Old Olive...which is retired.  DOH!  I thought it was Wild Wasabi until I looked closer.  Dang it.

I stamped off the Old Olive for the Triple Treat flower, so that the words would show up better.

Stamps:  Triple Treat Flower, Bright Blessings Jumbo wheel (I got an extra wheel, ripped the rubber off of the wheel, and cut it up to use the sayings/leaves individually as unmounted stamps.  Thanks to Lisa Somerville for that great idea!).

Cardstock:  Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Old Olive, Cajun Craze

Other:  Big Shot, Box #2 die, Old Olive wide striped grosgrain ribbon (unavailable, dang it), 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Extra Large Fancy Flower punch, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Snowflake Treat Cup Ornament

Stamp Camp projects for tomorrow!  I totally case'd this idea from Lori Wilburn.  Thanks for the great idea Lori!   This ornament's base is the snowflake, topped with a Sweet Treat Cup with some "snow" in it...Mica Flakes from the Holiday Mini.  Boy, is that stuff messy.  Good thing I can vacuum up the rest that I did NOT get into the cup.  :)

Stamps:  Snow Much Fun

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist

Ink:  Black

Other:  Big Shot, Snowflake die, Sweet Treat Cups, 1 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch, Marina Mist/Bashful Blue/Tangerine Tango markers, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Mica Flakes, Mini glue dots, Sticky Strip, Marina Mist 3/8" Taffeta ribbon

Black Pearls!

I've been on a kick using this Lattice die, and coloring pearls!  My latest attempt was at making Black Pearls.  I figure I can use this card for a wedding or anniversary or something formal.  Made a quick envelope to fit the card too.  Card is 4 1/4" square.

Just colored pearls with a Black Sharpie!

Here's a close-up of the pearls -

Colored Pearls - Lattice

I thought Olive colored pearls would be perfect for this card.  No greeting, but I was really just trying out the pearl coloring business.  Again, just a colored Sharpie gives you great results!

I colored my pearls and rhinestones while they were still stuck to the packaging.  Let them sit for a minute to make sure they are dry, then pry off as you normally would and stick to your project.

No stamping on this one!  I was just using up leftover scraps that I had out from my double cd holder project.

Here's a close-up of the pearls.  They are so pretty in real life!

Cardstock:  Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Whisper White, Island Oasis (retired...I think that's the name of it) designer series papers

Other:  Big Shot, Lattice die, Basic Pearl accents, Olive Sharpie marker, Mini Glue Dots

Colored Rhinestones - Halloween

Colored Rhinestones and Pearls are a big hit now!  As long as you have some Sharpies in different colors, you can totally make colored gems!

I chose orange here, just as my first try.  Then I added black dots to the very middle so they still looked like eyeballs.  I also kept the card very simple, since it was my first go at it.

Here's a close-up of the colored rhinestones...a little on the blurry side, but you get the idea:

Ink:  Black, Chocolate Chip

Other:  Big Shot, Designer Frames embossing folders, Markers (a lot of different ones to color in the cuckoo clock)

Easy Events - Wedding and Christmas

From my recent Easy Events class, both of these cards used the embossing technique (heat embossing and embossing folders)

I went with all white for the wedding card, thinking everyone can color the birds in the wedding colors or leave it all white for a more elegant look.
